Summer set-backs, moving forward into the fall
September 2011: After a summer filled with lots of dreary gray weather, lots of pressure, lots of stress, and a return of the depression that I battle from time to time, I head into the fall with 8-10 extra pounds that need to be re-lost. My exercise is good, but my food is a struggle; I'm tracking calories (taking a break from tracking this summer was part of the problem, but I simply could not DEAL with that, with everything else that was going on) but just find I am HUNGRY and not always ...

My exercise is good, but my food is a struggle; I'm tracking calories (taking a break from tracking this summer was part of the problem, but I simply could not DEAL with that, with everything else that was going on) but just find I am HUNGRY and not always making the best choices. I will get there... again. It's a little frustrating to have to re-do the hard work that I'd done before... but it was my choices that got me here and I own that.

My Goals:
Ultimate Goals: Lose 27 -30 pounds, wear smaller clothes, feel better, have more energy, like my body more. Having come close to achieving that goal, my stressful summer added 8-10 pounds back on. I'm working on focus in small steps, keeping my exercise at good levels and trying to slowly get my calories back down in range.
My Program:
I teach Jazzercise, currently 3 classes a week; that, plus prepping for those classes, plus a little extra in a hike or walk during the week, generally reaches my exercise goals. 8 (or more) cups water/day I still struggle with thinking that it's a "free day" if I'm not using the food tracker, so I am trying to track everything most days.
Personal Information:
I'm a native Coloradoan who detoured to northern California for awhile. Now I live in Steamboat Springs--I am so lucky!
Other Information:
WHAT I'M READING RIGHT NOW: Re-reading the whole Harry Potter series start to finish, trying to keep ahead of my 7-year old daughter who is reading them for the first time. I'm on #3, she's on #2.
