A Healthier Me

I want to have a healthier heart and be in the best shape of my life. My goal is not only to lose the weight, but to keep maintaining this as a lifestyle.

I fractured my ankle Nov. 2010, and learned during the time I was in crutches that I previously took walking/running and fitness for granted. I now have a new outlook and want to change for good.

I run now, and love it very much. I don't want to ever stop getting outside on my two feet and want to keep enjoying ...

I want to run a marathon someday, too! One day at a time, I'll be closer to that goal.

Current Status:
DAWNGW Today I walked 4.5 mi in my hilly neighborhood. I chose the largest hill for my course and my walking app tells me it's a 500 ft incline!

My Program:
Doing fun activities like hiking steep hills, bicycling, swimming, hilly neighborhood walks. Weight training 3 times/week.

Trying to have my heel get 100% better before running again, which is what I love (and miss) most!

Being mindful of what I eat (portion size, learning to eat slower, paying attention to balancing meals) every day. Mostly veggies!

I work in the movie industry as a visual effects digital artist.

*Happily married to a man I adore and look forward to growing old with.

*I LOVE good people, music, art, hiking, camping, travel/exploring, ancient civilizations, cafes and wineries. Plus lots more!

I had to chuckle when you said that your favorite motivational songs to exercise to were a combination of new and "oldies" from the 80's?etc. To me oldies are from the 50's and 60's. (I can even find songs to run to from the fab 40's!!!) Whatever you exercise to, EXERCISE is the important outcome here. LOL emoticon
