I have been overweight or obese my whole life. At age 19 I had enough. I went on a very unhealthily diet. I went on a salad only diet, and exercised relentlessly. I was never taught the right way to eat and be healthy. I lost fifty pounds. I was happy about my weight reduction, but endlessly tired and weak. I ended up gaining all my weight back, and some.
At 372 lbs. I knew I had to change my ways. I couldn't sleep, and was losing breathe just from laying down. I was afraid. I found this website. It has helped me regain the confidence I use to have. I have learned a healthier way to eat & fuel my body and mind. I haven't lost the most weight, but I know I am on a healthy path. I already feel better. I am no longer afraid of my future.

My Goals:
*Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
*Incorporate more fruits, veggies and whole grains in my diet.
*Try my best to exercise even when it's raining, cold and I hurt the most.
* Try not to eat foods that are over processed, and full of chemicals.
*Limit my snacking & choose healthier choices.
*Eliminate all fast food and pizza from my diet.
* If I do stumble and fall, try not to beat myself up for my mistakes. Pick myself up and start over from scratch with a cheerful disposition! :D

My Program:
I have done well incorporating more whole grains, fruits & veggies. I have even surprised myself at how much I like these things. I have found a new addiction to garlic hummus. Yum! I have had great difficulty exercising due to pain. Still, in turn I have lessened my caloric intake, and have been eating more healthfully.

Personal Information:
Born in Southern California, but raised in the thumb of Michigan. Seriously, after my injury I've been thinking of moving back to warmer climates!

Other Information:
I love to read. Craziest book I have read is She Comes Undone. Love the classics, and anything set in the 1700's-1800's. Love all kinds of music. Addicted to itunes. My favorite actress is Maureen O'Hara. Love TCM & AMC channel.
