Single, living in Dallas since 2006. Overweight since 1998 after gaining 105 pounds in college. A pre-diabetic blood test result in May 2011 really kicked me into changing my lifestyle. I started a no flour, no sugar foodplan on June 1 and discovered that I love yoga. In July, I bought a mountain bike with the goal to be off-road by January 2012 (first off-road ride Nov 25, 2011. Woo!).
Results after the first two months following the no flour, no sugar foodplan: weight loss 29 pounds, glucose from 116 to 83, blood pressure from 110/70 to 105/68.
Third month: 17 pounds for a total weight loss of 46 pounds.
Fourth month: 14 pounds for a total weight loss of 60 pounds.
Fifth month: 6 pounds for a total weight loss of 66 pounds.
Sixth month: 11 pounds for a total weight loss of 77 pounds.
Seventh month: 4 pounds for a total weight loss of 81 pounds. December was a really rough month, so I'm really happy with 4 pounds. :)
Eighth month: 7 pounds for a total weight loss of 88 pounds.
Ninth month: Glucose is 81, total cholesterol from 198 to 152 (woo!!!), triglycerides from 160 to 49, LDL from 124 to 101, A1C from 6.0 to 5.4, and 1 pound for a total weight loss of 89 pounds.
Tenth month: 1 pound for a total weight loss of 90 pounds (no earthly idea what the problem is!).
Eleventh month: 8 pounds for a total weight loss of 98 pounds. TWO pounds from 100. WOOHOO!
Twelfth month: 7 pounds for a total weight loss of 105 pounds!!! Which is, coincidentally, the total amount of weight I gained during my 4 years of college. I haven't been as good about the tape measure... but what I have measured, for the time I've measured it, comes to 41+ inches lost! And my body fat percentage has gone from 37% to 31.8%.
Thirteenth month: 7 pounds for a total weight loss of 112 pounds. And in the BMI realm, I have officially moved from "Obese" to simply "Overweight".
Fourteenth month: Only 0.8 pounds, for a total loss of 113 pounds. Hello plateau #2!!! :(
Fifteenth month: Another 0.8. Plateau is still here.
Sixteenth month: Little more... 1.8 pounds... plateau is sticking around apparently.
Seventeenth month: WOOHOO! 10.6 pounds. Buh-bye plateau!!!
Eighteenth month: another 4 pounds bringing me in ONEDERLAND and a total loss of 130 pounds!
To get down to a weight where I can do the things I used to do (roller coasters, dancing, mountain biking), and buy attractive clothes that fit me well.
below 300 - achieved July 30, 2011
below 250 by the end of 2011 - achieved December 31 (248.5)
below 200 by November 25, 2012 (the one-year anniversary of my first off-road ride in Texas)

Following a no flour, no sugar foodplan with a Registered Dietician.
Daily bike rides (goal 60 minutes), after-ride yoga (20 minutes), daily walks with my dog (she was 15 pounds in October, and is now 10.2 - February 2012).
Originally from Michigan (go Red Wings!), living in Dallas since 2006, single, 42, grandmother x3, loves reading, travel, darts, concerts, renaissance festivals, mountain biking.
Would love to meet some people in the North Dallas area for socialization, hanging out, exploring, exercising, watching football or hockey. Mountain bikers get bonus points!
