June 1, 2012 It's been months since I logged on. I miss being here but found I needed to pour my heart and soul into finishing my pre requisites so I could apply for nursing school. June 1, 2012 It's been months since I logged on. I miss being here but found I needed to pour my heart and soul into finishing my pre requisites so I could apply for nursing school. I applied in January, finished physiology, microbiology and math this past semester and I'm happy to say, I start nursing school in August. With the stress in school I found myself not exercising, not eating as healthy as I had been and unfortunately have gained about 10 pounds back. Now that summer is here, though, I plan to re gain my healthy lifestyle, lose the weight I gained and make a vow to myself to keep this momentum going even through the rigors of nursing school. That will be a challenge! But I'm ready for it. May 13, 2011 I have officially reached my goal of 128 pounds! So now comes the next phase of this journey - maintenance and making my 50's much more healthy than my 40's. I feel this incredible adventure ahead of me! March 23, 2011 I decided to delete my original introduction because so much has changed since I became consistent on SP. Right now my weight is 137 - when I started SP 2 years ago it was 168, I think. I say I think because I stopped weighing myself then and I'm betting I actually climbed up closer to 170. That's just too much weight on a scant 5'4" woman with a very small frame. What really clicked for me was actually using the tools on this site. That didn't really happen until last fall. I had a couple of small setbacks but over the past few months my weight has dropped steadily and I know in my heart that this is the last time I will embark on a weight loss journey. I'll be 50 in a few days. I made it a promise to myself that I would take this weight off by my birthday and spend the next decade setting and achieving goals in the area of maintaining and building fitness, trying new sports and activities, getting an education (finally) and really enjoying life. Beyond that, who knows but I'm taking this one decade at a time. SparkPeople is an incredible site. There are tools and resources here unlike anywhere else. There are people giving and receiving support and encouragement unlike I've ever seen in all of my dieting years - A LOT of dieting years. This is a place that breeds and fosters success for anyone willing to put in the effort. Best of luck to all!

My Goals:
I've had weight goals over the past year or so tied in to my mainland travel. I haven't met any one of them, even the one to lose weight before my high school reunion. I went to the event - fat. So now the photos are very hard to look at. I really hope and pray that this will be the motivation I need to finally get this done. Well, it's now 2011. I'm getting there. Slow but steady. I've begun really logging on here daily and using the tools this site has to offer and it's beginning to show. I'm in this for the long haul.
My Program:
I've been running, riding my stationary bike and doing strength training. At this point I'm re setting my goals to include core work to improve my posture. I know that when I stand up straight I look thinner.
