I have been absent for a very long time. I entered nursing school Fall 2012 and poured all my energy into my studies. Everything took a back seat, including my health. Well, after lots of sleepless nights, long days in the hospital, and a re-gain of 30 pounds (after losing a total of 50) I am finished with school and working as a Registered Nurse.

Well, after lots of sleepless nights, long days in the hospital, and a re-gain of 30 pounds (after losing a total of 50) I am finished with school and working as a Registered Nurse.

School ended in May, I started working full time within three days, and I passed my board exam in July. When school ended, I hit the ground running and resumed my healthy lifestyle without missing a beat. I'm happy to report that I'm getting my health back, my weight is dropping again, and my fitness level is improving daily.

I want to thank this wonderful site for still being here after an absence of nearly three years! You're just like a faithful old friend and I'm very grateful.

My Goals:
As I move through my 50's my goal is to ramp up my activity level, start doing more outdoor sports, and help as many people as I can in my new nursing career.

My Program:
I've been running, riding my stationary bike and doing strength training. At this point I'm re setting my goals to include core work to improve my posture. I know that when I stand up straight I look thinner.

Thank you for your encouragement. I gravitate towards grains, and felt great on the macrobiotic diet, but that was very restrictive and I drifted off of it. Some plans require too much cooking time or too many expensive groceries, but I remind myself of the many nutritious inexpensive options, and try to keep things simple, like cooking rice and beans ahead of time, and keeping greens on hand all the time.
