Update December 28, 2015

I am continuing with the 5% Challenges. It makes me face my weight every week and I am beginning to see how my day to day activities affect it. My goal is still to be medicine free and in 2016 I will put everything I have into staying on track. 2015 brought a lot of changes to my life and for the first time in over 30 years the only person I have to take care of is me.

Update September 10, 2015.

I will be starting the Fall Challenge in a couple weeks. This will be the first time I can be fully committed and I plan to do just that. I really want to make strength training a priority. It seems to fall to the bottom of the list when life gets busy. I manage to do cardio so the goal here is to increase my time and number of times.

June 2015.......

I am looking forward to the Summer Challenge. During the next 8 weeks I hope to meet the 5% goal and develop some good habits. I will do this by eating a plant based diet and my favorite exercise, walking. I will also do some strength training at least 3 days a week.

Update January 1, 2013.........

I decided it was time to update my goals or fine tune them. My goal is still to be medicine free but now I see I must put my plan to get there in writing.

Habakkuk 2:2 says Write the vision and make it plain.

In the first phase of my plan for this year I comitt to tracking my food daily and exercising at least 10 minutes every day. I know just doing these two things will make a big difference in my health. That is all for now. I will update my plan as needed. Right now the biggest need is for consistency in these two areas.

More to come..........

My Goals:
My goal is to be healthy!

I will do this by eating right and exercising.

I don't want a bunch of rules to follow. I have found the McDougall plan the easiest route to take so far. Eat Starches period. I am going to commit to this way of eating for 2016 and evaluate my progress in one year.

My exercise goals will be to increase strengh training and continue with the cardio. I go to the gym now but am working on getting equipment in my home so the weather will not impact my ability to workout.

Other Information:
In August 2015 I entered a new phase of my life. Empty nest. It still feels strange but for the first time in over 30 years when I come home the only person I have to take care of is me.

I am using this challenge as a guide to do just that.

Ask Franniedid as their was someone else assigned too and the start weights needed to go in yesterday. I can’t see what happened on her team. Franniedid is your team leader so she can tell you. I had a member join as Honorary last challenge and enjoyed doing her first challenge as an honorary as it is a busy challenge.

    Hi,

There is a team that needs an active member. That means you’re stats for the count. Please look for your invite in your Sparkmail from Franniedid to the invincible indigo team. Please except as soon as possible and posterior start weight. This is important as leaders need to get the start weights into the leader team tomorrow.

Welcome to the biggest loser challenge,

Welcome to the Biggest Loser Team. The Teams are Full and the Challenge started Wednesday. I can still add you to a team as an Honorary Member. Honorary members take part in the Challenge just like Active members, but the stats don’t count towards the team totals. Consider it a practice round. Before I assign you I will double check with the Leaders first to make sure their Active Roster is Full. When I find out I will let you know which team I assigned you to. The bonus of being an Honorary Member is you have the support of the team, you take part in the challenge and you sign up directly with the Team and don’t need to put yourself on the waitlist for the Spring Challenge.

Consult not your fears, but your hopes and dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you have tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.
