The time has come...
Hi! I'm Cori. I am a happily single girl in my 30s who has been fighting a losing battle with my weight since I was a child. It never seemed to be a "big deal" to me until just a couple of years ago. In 2007, I was having terrible back pain, and found that I had 2 herniated disks in my lower back. Hi! I'm Cori. I am a happily single girl in my 30s who has been fighting a losing battle with my weight since I was a child. It never seemed to be a "big deal" to me until just a couple of years ago. In 2007, I was having terrible back pain, and found that I had 2 herniated disks in my lower back. The pain forced me to change jobs, and I became even more sedentary than before, which caused weight gain. Eventually, my blood pressure increased slightly and I began having insulin resistance. In 2009, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and full-blown type 2 diabetes. As the pain I was experiencing increased, so did my weight. I now feel as if I have reached rock-bottom, and I need to lose weight and get healthy. I know that as I lose weight, all of the pain and other health conditions will diminish. My goal is to achieve success in small increments instead of setting myself up for failure by setting the bar too high.

My Goals:
1) Live my life according to God's will. 2) Gain control of my life and health through a nutritious diet. 3) Commit to a workout program that involves strength training, cardio and lots of walking.
My Program:
My intentions are to go walking daily, increasing my distance weekly; strength training with free weights; and cardio such as stationary bike and workout DVDs. I also would like to try Zumba & yoga. I have to go slowly & sometimes have to take breaks due to fibromyalgia. Some days are good, some are bad. One day at a time. As for diet- I just am trying to eat more vegetables & fruits, fewer refined & processed foods and watch my portion sizes. I am not completely eliminating anything from my diet, as I think that is self-sabotage. I just try to have more control of myself instead.

I am currently living in Southeast Iowa.
Other Information:
I have 4 dogs, Zeke, Zina, Dolly & Bella, who are my babies.
