My Goals:
I love to travel and so my first goal was to be able to fly without having to use a seat belt extender. I have now met and exceeded that goal! The goal I am working on now is to have the medical diagnosis of Obese removed from chart. At my height, I have just 8 pounds to go!

My Program:
I am measuring my portions, counting calories, and logging all of my food. It's been eye opening to discover what true portion sizes are! I also get 45-60 minutes of cardio exercise six days a week, plus 20-30 minutes of strength exercises 3x/week. I started small at just a few minutes a couple days a week and as my endurance has improved and my enthusiasm has grown I have increased my time.

Personal Information:
I live in Vancouver, WA. I have some baggage from my childhood and got married when I was 18, had my daughter at 19, then had my son and was divorced at 22. I've been a single mom since, but I've triumphed by putting myself through college and supporting my children entirely by myself. Now that my daughter is in college and my son is 17, I'm working on improving my health and my life.

Other Information:
I am a serious foodie and have my own cooking video blog where I am trying to show others how easy it is to eat healthy and lose weight. Come find me on Facebook under Colleen's Kitchen!

Wow congrats on all of your weight loss. Truly inspiring!
I saw in someone's "I want to be a runner" thread that you're running your first 5k this week - good luck! I'm running my first one on Saturday!

Saw your comment on the "how to deal with junk food at work" post and had to come visit your page. Wow--you look WONDERFUL already, at 53 lbs off--what a difference!! Good for you; you must feel as good as you look. :-)

I see from your blog that you have been through a LOT. I can identify with some of it--there's lots of alcoholism & drug use in our family as well. It's an added stress, for sure. I commend you for all you're doing to take care of both your family AND yourself, and I wish you much success in your journey.

Laurie
