My Journey

A journey is riddled with starts and stops. Sometimes we have to start over. But, starting over isn't really starting over. Its just re-evaluating where we've been and where we are going and making necessary changes. My journey here is about weight loss and more. its about where I've been and where I'm going as a person. (July, 2011)

My Goals:
I am working to lose weight and get back to what I had achieved here at Sparkpeople in 2008. My daily goals include:

1. Tracking my food and being conscious of my food choices and portions. Tracking does work.

2. Daily exercise. I walk, run, use DVDs.

3. Eat a healthy diet that includes fruit, vegetables, lean meats and whole grains.

4. Maintain my weight with the good habits I've developed over time.

Weight goals:
1. Get my weight in a normal BMI.
2. Feel good in my clothes. Wearing mediums.
3. Stay physically active by walking, running and other exercises.

My Program:
I lost 30 pounds on Sparkpeople in 2008. I don't deprive myself, but seek moderation in all things. I do what works for me and will adapt plans to fit my lifestyle.

I follow a combination of diets. South Beach Diet, The Doctor's Diet, by Travis Stork, The Sonoma Diet and elements of others. I'm always on the quest of finding what works for me. Which means I adapt, adapt and adapt.

I like to walk and run outside. I also use walk DVD's. I now do a little cycling.

The support of my family and friends.

I weigh myself daily to monitor my progress.

Hi Cindi, It wasn't such a bad day (or couple of days); just chilly, damp and dreary. All summer I have felt like my SAD hasn't passed and if autumn is really around the corner, I don't feel prepared to counter the cycle of cold & dark seasons.

Thanks for your words of encouragement emoticon
