My 8 inch f/6 Telescope
My life may be full of ups and downs but I don't have to dwell on the lows. I'm the ponytail girl!
From a place of quiet reflection comes inner strength.
The SKY does NOT have to be the LIMIT they claim it to be, but can instead be a DOORWAY toward your dreams and your future of your choosing.
My history? Through another program I lost down to and maintained my goal weigh for about 5 years, but couldn't seem to go lower. When my weight started to creep up on me I found SP!
Through SP I lost back down to my goal weight and was maintaining that for about a year when my husband had a lengthy hospital stay and eventually passed away.
I have been on a roller coaster with life since then, but I am managing with a lot of help from God, my church family, friends, and yes, indeed, from Spark People.
Through it all I have held fast to my conviction "NOT to give up or give in." I continue to live in my house and fight those battles that come with living alone daily, with the help of the Lord, my Christian family, my friends and my spark people friends.
Through all of this I have gained more confidence then I thought I could ever have and hopefully I will grow stronger and wiser, and not be overwhelmed. You are all very important to me and you remain one of my "lifelines".
Praise be to God for his blessings and providing that DOORWAY to the future and thanks be to the Lord and SP for teaching me and all of us here to open and walk through that door!
YOU ARE ALL THE GREATEST!!!
SPREAD THE SPARK!
My goal now is to lose from 165 to 150. I will be healthier there. I reached my first goal of 155 once and now I am ready to get off the weight I let creep on and lose a little more.
I have been trying to follow the spark people guidelines, keep my calories down, but not deprive myself to the point of causing extreme cravings.
I like to walk and stairstep for exercise in the winter and I like to walk outside for exercise in temperate weather.
I also like strength training exercises.
I am a member of the Church of Christ. I am a Sunday school teacher, webmaster for our church site, and have an Online Bible Study for Women called ABibleStudyforWomen at yahoogroups. com
I play and teach most stringed instruments and I play at local historical venues and at the nursing homes and retirement centers.
I have lots of interests which include:
family, friends, animal "friends", both pets and wildlife, looking at the universe through my telescopes, walking and hiking,
and being a volunteer for non-profit org projects and needs in the community.
I would like to hear from others and share support and weight loss tips, or just chat a while.
I enjoy traveling, seeing new places, and making friends.
The only continental states I have missed exploring thus far are Nevada, N. Dakota, Wisconsin, Maryland, Deleware and Alaska.
I don't know if time and opportunity will allow me to get to these states at my age but I can always hope.
My favorite time of year is anytime when the weather is between 65-85 degrees.
My favorite past times are astronomy and playing my fiddle, guitar, mandolin, or banjo or hiking in the woods and gardening.
My favorite shoes are Nikes.
I miss my husband. I lost him n the spring and it is hard sometimes but I feel like he is near helping me to help myself by bringing to mind the converstations or information I remember him giving me which I need to remember to solve problems. I am not alone though, because God has been there to see me through

Hi! I've seen you on the Astronomy Team. Nice SparkPage. Really enjoy seeing your Dob and the photos you've posted of your gardens, animal buddies, and pretty places and sights.

I'm here, I'm here! Its been a year, I am so sorry. Unfortunately I had a very bitter separation to deal with and that has caused me to lie low from most aspects of my life. I am getting through it, but I know I still have another year of hell.
How is everything with you? What has been going on?

Glad to hear things are well so far. Hope your eye problems clear up quickly. Weather here has also been good. I set a few February goals for myself that have been tougher than I realized they would be but in the past, I will say that by this time (1.5 months in) I would have already given up completely so I count that as a victory. Last time I checked weight loss goals were still coming along, slow and steady wins the race, right?
Anyway, good to check up with you!

Thank you for your comment on my picture, I just noticed today there was a comment. The photo of me is actually with my current bass player, he was also Johnny's bass player. I'll post a picture tonight (hope I can remember) of Johnny and I.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your husband, and for the loss that must mean as a musician on so many levels. Your kind words were truly a delightful gift today. I've added you as a friend. Thank you. KT
