Back to Being FIT

I was always quite small and fit, but recently either due to age or just slacking on watching what I eat I gained 20 extra pounds and am having a very hard time fitting in any of my clothes. I've decided to put an end to it before it gets out of control and told myself I will not buy myself another single piece of new clothing until I go back to where I always was which is around 114-116.
I also want to finally get toned and not to be shy about wearing a bikini at the beach. Overall level ...

My Goals:
I want to get my body back in the shape I was in 2 years ago. I want to finally get toned and fit and wear a short dress for my best friend's wedding.

My Program:
I found that SparkPage Nutriotion and Excercise trackers is what works for me. I tried everything from South Beach diet to P90X and TurboJam but nothing seemed to educate me as much as SparkPeople about good eating habbits.
I've lost 7 lb with SparkPeople in just 2 months by simply following their program.

Personal Information:
Originally moved to US from Ukraine back in 2002. All my friends were telling me that when I go back to visit them 3-4 years later I will be 20lb heavier. Well, that didn't happen. I went back 4 years later weighting the same 116 lb that I left. Who knew it would actually take me 6 years to gain that 20 pounds.

Other Information:
I've been getting motivated from time to time and trying to watch what I eat and excercise regularly. Some months I would get down to 115-114lb and feel great. I would have more energy and have much toner body. But then few months later I just get tired of being so strict with my life style and things get out of control again.
I want to put an end to it. P90X is my hope.

hey, I saw your comment on MRD232's blog about Smart Balance Spread. Basically any product like that which is a very processed, man-made product should be avoided. Just use butter or olive oil instead, where you would've used Smart Balance.
Those are "real foods." You know?

Also, peanut butter isn't allowed but almond butter, coconut butter, walnut butter... those are. Yum.

Hi, it's Chef Jim and Yes it taste like rice pudding and even has a hint of cinnamon but I can't imagine where that comes from.lol.
They also use Mangda in many Thai sauces. Since they feed on rice their knickname is Rice Bug. I have more stories but you don't really want to know what I've had....lol.
Watch the TV series "So Bizzare" and think of me ;-). Been there done that.

Actually dairy is allowed in the PB in pure form - whole fat yogurt, whole fat butter (mmm), natural cheeses, goat cheeses, etc. It's used as sort of a "treat" or "topping" item. Whole fat butter is used for cooking / sauteeing in a number of recipes on the site. The important thing is to limit refined or processed dairy that may have been altered with food additives, sugars, starches, milk powders, etc.

I agree with you on the weird counter points. Man, some of those people are really touchy. Must be a full moon, because I was on another message board where people were getting testy with each other. Someone thought that people shouldn't count daily regular activities as exercise, such as shopping. That really PO'd some people. If you only count what you've normally done before you started here, then you're not going to get very far. That's my rant. Anyway, thanks for raising an interesting point.

Thank you for the picture comment. My body likes to do this thing where I will lose fat on the upper half and then my legs and bum take forever to catch up... it's an awkward phase, haha.
