Thank you for your comment on my blog. I have to admit that as disgusting as my shakes are, they keep me full. Best wishes!

In April I found an anti-aging doctor (he's 74 and says most young doctors care nothing about old people) who is an endocrinologist. The last doctor I saw I asked to be put on Metformin, so he said "At your AGE, you can't expect to lose weight as you have Metabolic Syndrome." He did blood work since I asked and then called me to say "You don't need Metformin as your blood sugar was 115 and diabetes starts at 126.) So this doctor I see now said "Read the insert from the Metformin package" so I read it and it said IF you might become a Type 2 diabetic then you can start this medication. He said "115 isn't diabetes but it is close enough." (Richard Bernstein M.D. who wrote The Diabetes Solution, says we should keep a BS level of 80.) I take a weekly shot of Bydureon and daily Armour Thyroid, plus Acarbose with meals.
I lost 36# and then in June I fell and broke my femur just below the hip joint, so I have a rod and screw in my leg and I spent 34 days in a rehab center, came home to six weeks of PT, and now am doing 10 wks at the downtown therapy center. I am walking with a cane.I learned to do a lot of chair exercises.
At 59, I'd say to get that hip replaced as soon as possible and get yourself back on track. It won't get better with time. I don't have osteoporosis, but I tripped and fell stepping off the sidewalk, landing on the concrete curb. In a way it was good because I have seen what I don't want to become and I will keep going.

If your college has an MPR, use it to walk (I use mine to do so as does an instructor of mine). If it has a gym, use it. I'm trying to get my butt in gear and use the one at mine. Also if your school offers a free membership at a local gym take it up. Mine did until said gym closed their doors.

Back at work and trying to make it all work. I put in a lot of time menu planning & shopping over the summer and I had all kinds of time to exercise. Hoping that old habits don't creep back. Time to put in the work! Good luck to you - you head back tomorrow, right?

Thanks for adding me. Today is a better day than yesterday (so far). Ready to spend the day in the sun swimming with my boys.

Small world coincidence...I, too, am a school secretary. I actually go back to work tomorrow after my summer off. I'm in an elementary school where my two youngest boys attend.

Hope you have a great day!
