9/20/2012: I've joined the 2012 Fall 5% Challenge
I've got the excercise commitment down. Although I've been neglecting the strength training again, so I'll commit to two sessions of strength training a week, I'd like to get three in, but I need to allow for the busy schedules that interfere.
I commit to find a plan & follow it. Just not sure what that plan is yet.

1/8/2011: Had my 1st WW weigh in of the New Year today. It wasn't pretty, and I'm changing my ticker to be accountable to it.

1/3/2011: I'm determined to hit my goal weight in 2011. I have a full year to find what works and what doesn't and make lasting changes so that I can maintain my loss.

10/13/2010: I'm going to keep asking myself: "Am I giving my goals my best effort?"

I have hopes of reaching my longstanding weight goal on or before my birthday which is exactly one month from today. I am 8.5 pounds away so it is doable. However, although 8.5 might not sound like a lot to lose for me it is, I have to fight for every ounce of weight loss. I need to reach for the goal, but remember that this is not a race and I'll get there, but accept that it may not be by the 13th of November, if it happens then great.

3/4/2010: I responded to a question from a friend today with this, I realized this is my ultimate goal:

To drop thirty pounds, and tone my body during the process. To boost my metabolism to a point where running three days a week and strength training two days a week is enough for me to maintain that weight loss along with eating nutrionally sound 98% of the time

Updated 12/22/09: Now I'm 44. I have been a member of Weight Watcher since September 13th and a member of the 25 pounds by Christmas team which is wrapping up this week. It looks like I'll have lost 20 pounds since starting this challenge and I'm very proud of that.

I've learned that running in the dark, at night, in the cold and in the rain are not things I want to do. I will continue to run, either indoors or when weather permits outdoors in the brilliant sunshine.

I'm a 44 year old mother of four children. The only time I haven't dieted is when I was pregnant. I want to be in a place where maintenance is my life, not dieting.

I think I am having the same issues you are with my PR. I ran a race on Saturday that I am typically much faster in but I was about 2 mins slower. I read NINJALINDA's comment on your page and my weight is up a little from last year also. My main thing is that I am transitioning from heel striking to a barefoot running style. This is really hard on my muscles and I "give out" a lot faster because I haven't quite transitioned to the full 3.1 miles. I do great for about 2- 2.5 miles and then I am spent. I just chalked it up to the transition and hopefully all of the training will help me drop the extra pounds and build muscle and I will be hitting my old PR in no time.

I understand your disappointment (tho I'd kill for your current time!). I can verify...added weight definitely slows you down considerably. I think that's one reason I just can't get back into my running groove...all this extra weight. Good on you for getting out there and getting it done, though!
