Just hanging in there....
One bite at a time, one step at a time, one day at a time...
I stress eat. I mindlessly eat. Each day I make a decision to do neither...to journal or do chores around the house, to eat without distractions.
I''ve had some major life changes over the past year: marriage, three job changes, moved, and am trying to sell my house. Having to be at work by 5:30 has really killed my morning workouts and has added a second "breakfast" that needs to go back to snack proportions. Still trying to get into some semblance of a routine that includes exercise since I''ve gained back 20 of the pounds I''d lost.
I''m off processed/added sugars (except for rare/occasional pure maple syrup, honey, or organic evaporated cane sugar) and artificial sweeteners since 1/13/15. I''ve greatly reduced intake of processed foods. Time to work on portion control and tracking.
I can do this!!!
1. integrate a regular exercise schedule into my week.
2. Cut out sugar and artificial sweeteners, processed foods, and if I'm going to eat meat it can only be organic.
3. Identify at least 3 alternatives to stress eating and start using them.
4. Learn how to do weekly meal planning.
Food--track what I eat; cut out sweets and sodas; more fresh fruits and vegetables, foods with few additives/little processing, drink at least 2 liters of water a day.
Exercise--aiming for at least 15 min in on the treadmill before I go to work. Must get backside moving again!
Wellness-- 7-8 hours of sleep, time each day for spiritual practice, and returning balance to my life.
I grew up in Georgia, moved out to Seattle for 18 years, and am now back in Georgia. I've got three psychokitties that are always helping me with something. I'm working on a home garden, slowly expanding each season.
I will ALWAYS be a Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket!
I love reading anything having to do with the mind-body-spiritual connection. I loved the movie "What the Bleep do We Know" My two other favorite movies are "Kundun" and "Volcano"

Kim, ghostly greetings! Carve out your day with positivity. Rattle your bones with exercise activities. Brew your cauldron with healthy menu potions. Have a TERROR-ific and BOO-tiful Halloween!
I'm wishing you frightfully fun from my sparkpage to yours.
I embrace you with monster hugs for Halloween night.
BEWARE to avoid the awakened Spirits cemetery tours.
As this year brings haunted houses, ghoulish costumes and screaming delight.
The brewing cauldrons are overflowing with healthy potions galore.
"Hang around for a spell!" the witches will cackle.
Bats flying, spider webs spinning and creepy crawlers soon join the horror.
Let's just hope, the rattling skeletal bodies do not unshackle.
Hours away, the spooktacular fun will be here.
It is October 31st, I send you this haunting greeting.
Be sure to watch for costumed children to appear.
Wishing you a BOO-tiful Halloween of trick-or-treating!

Yeah, "music therapy" helps me every time; I don't know why I have to always re-learn that tool. I obviously can't just blast music at work, but I now always have some earbuds in my purse and music on my cellphone, so I can have a listen.

Hi There, Thanks for the visit to my blog which is team assignment based on a book by Dr. Judith Beck, The Beck Diet Solution. It uses Cognitive Behavior Techniques to help change habits or to deal with issues. I noticed some twelve step slogans on your page. I have been in AA for 27 years and there are a lot of similarities between suggestions from that program and Beck's work. If you decide to look into it keep in touch. I am adding you as a friend. You sure look like someone who should be my Spark Pal
Great to meet you here.

"One day at a time" and "Progress, not perfection" are two of my mantras. I have to remind myself often, and am happy you reminded me as well when you visited my blog. Thanks for the words -- nice to know I'm not alone!
