Life is for living

Hi, I am a mom of two, a boy aged 9 and a girl aged 7. I have dieted most of my life since I was around ten or eleven. I can not remember any stage of my life when I was 100% happy with my weight. Now that I am older and hopefully wiser I am concentrating on lifestyle changes instead of dieting. I broke my leg and ankle in Dec 2009. I was at my heaviest then. Somehow that event triggered the motivation I needed to lose weight and in the next year and a half I lost 2 and a half stone. However I ...

Somehow that event triggered the motivation I needed to lose weight and in the next year and a half I lost 2 and a half stone. However I needed to lose another stone but it never happened and with putting on a few extra pounds I now need to lose that final stone and a half. I am at least glad that I did not revert back to my previous weight.

My Goals:
I will be fifty in three years time. My aim is to reach it feeling fit and healthy and ready to greet the second half of my life with enthusiasm!

My plan had been to have ran a 5k before I was fifty but as I have already done that, I am changing that goal to doing a 10K before I am fifty.

My Program:
Currently doing BLC 21.

I have jsut purchased a kettle bell and a DVD which I would like to get into!

Thanks so much for stopping by my page! I've had my share of struggles recently too, but it is possible to get back on track--even if it doesn't always happen as quickly as we'd like. I've found that staying connected here as much as possible, especially when I'm feeling my worst, to be very helpful and has prevented a gain of a few pounds from turning into a massive one. Good luck getting back to where you want to be and feel free to stop by my page any time!

Thank you for checking in on me! Everything is going pretty good.
I was hospitalized last week to change my insulin, that went well.
The baby is measuring small still but she's growing good, so she's just petite and they're really pleased with her growth. Not concerned about that at all anymore.
Her last scan the other day showed that her bowel was distended. He didn't see any other signs of a bowel obstruction, so they just have to watch it and see what happens. It could mean surgery and a NICU stay, but the Dr. said he's seen it in diabetic patients and it winds up being nothing.
They're still worried about placenta accreta even though everything still looks good. They have decided to deliver me in the main OR instead of labor and delivery so they can be prepared in case I hemorrhage.
The only thing that really worries me now is that they probably won't let anyone in the OR with me. Dr. said he'd double check. It's going to be a long surgery and Dad will miss baby being born :(
They've also decided to let me go past 37 weeks, if I can make it! They want to schedule her delivery for 38-39 weeks, so that puts me at the week of 1/5-1/11.
I had my baby shower last weekend and it was awesome! Everyone was so generous, they know we're in a tough spot with me being out of work. We are pretty much all set for her to arrive now!
