My journey from fat to fit.

I got rid of 50, now I'm working on the last bit. I updated my tracker to reflect the new, smaller goal. I know I can maintain because I've been maintaining the 50 pound loss, but I want to see an 80 pound loss in the end. At that point I'll decide if I want to see a skinnier me or if I'm fine with what I looked like when I graduated high school 20 years ago.

I've had excuses before, I even had legitimate ones. I got rid of the clutter in the house, the medical issues in the family, the credit card debt and the toxic apartment. I no longer have excuses.

I control my vitamin D deficiency with supplements. I have a beautiful park with walking trails in the backyard, I have some active video games. I have 2 elementary schooled kids I need to be healthy for.

I may live in an apartment, but it has a south facing balcony, I am growing a garden in pots again this year. I love fresh vegetables whenever I can get them, especially right off the plant. My garden consists of container sized vegetables and herbs. I started a bigger garden at my Mother's house since she has a backyard that can support bigger plants like melons and squashes.

I won't let excuses rule my life, every excuse can be overcome. An excuse is just a challenge to figure out how to do something different.

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to be able to buy a bra off the rack at Target again.

I'll take a new picture of myself once every 5 pounds to see my progress.

Making exercise part of my normal routine whenever I can fit it in, which is more often that you'd think.

No mindless snacking, especially at night when it's time to relax.

Mini Goal #1, under 200 pounds: 5-22-12

Mini Goal #2, halfway point, 190 pounds: 6-28-12

Mini Goal #3, No longer Obese, 185 pounds: 8-6-12

Mini Goal #4, 20% gone, 184 pounds: 8-6-12

My Program:
I've been watching my food intake with SparkPeople and getting some exercise. I walk in the park whenever I have time which happens more often during the school year. I'm working on 10,000 steps a day.

Basically it's less junk food and more movement.

Personal Information:
I'm a Minnesota mom of 2 elementary school aged kids with a helpful husband that hides his junk food if it comes home.

Thanks for commenting on my blog, I **really** need the encouragement. I've been tracking but two things I wasn't doing - weighing / measuring my food and comparing the results to my goals. I sort of knew I was eating too much but I'd just plug in the food and move on to another web page.

I still haven't found the perfect replacement for food when I'm hit with "emotional" hunger. I just haven't found something that's the same quick hit that a high carb/high sugar/high fat food gives! I recently finished a mediatation workshop so I intend to try "being present" for a few minutes when the urge to eat hits.

I'm real reluctant to call someone, I would be embarassed. I also need to divorce some of my hobbies (reading, researching genealogy) from snacking.

Thanks for getting me to focus on some things to work on. emoticon

Hi sweetie, Ive been tracking my behind off the past week and a half again, I feel I will be here a long time now that I found a few things to keep me grounded. I am on a good routine so far and I am glad i can still check my original first few friends here to see how things are.

I checked a few of your blogs, and I wanted to say that I am no stranger to depression and anxiety/panic attacks. Just think twice before taking certain medications by researching yourself. My personal advice would be to write more, and find YOU time every so often without the kids, and one thing Id try id looking into "sensory deprivation tanks" aka floatation tanks. they cost around $50 per hour, but if you look for a groupon or amazon local coupon you can find one eventually cheaper. I hear its so good for stress and anxiety, i already just today paid for one.

P.s. there are nutritional things that can also affect you, or check if you have recently had smart meters put near your building. They emit frequencies that can affect our body and concentration. ;)
