Welcome to my Spark Journey

SPARKPEOPLE. It is a journey that I started December 26th, 2006. I lost some before SP, but my ticker reflects were I started, before SP. To date, I have lost 52lbs, and as I go, I work to keep it off. I've never done that before, I would have gained it all back by now. I've had many ups and downs, but in the end, it was all good. Lots of lessons have been learned, and I am no where near done learning yet. Welcome to my SparkPage. Feel free to look around. : )

Update:
On 11/4/11, I finally got to my 50lb milestone! It may have taken 5 years, but I did not give up. If I can inspire one person to not give up, and keep going, no matter what happens or how long it takes, I'd be happy.

Personal Information:
I am 53. I was born and raised in Millinocket, Maine, the gateway to Mt. Katahdin, and still live in Maine. I have been married for 33 years to a great guy. We have a grandson who will be 11 in February '13. He is our little angel,(or a little devil, depending on the day). I quit smoking in August of 2004, and that is the reason I am a fellow Sparky.

Other Information:
 When I started SparkPeople, I was obese. I am now overweight. I'm working on normal.

Thas great..as to the hot flashes..don' put up with 'em..get meds! or do organic..got any organic practitioners in your area?

thanks for the note on the pellet stoves..was interesting.
we have a regular wood stove & a liberal supply of wood, but if & when that runs out I intent to get a pellet stove..the info you put on the site sure helped me to know more.
How is the garden doing..I was so sad that mine did not work.
It has been so hot , dry & windy...I could soak them one day & by the time I got home from work they were dry as a bone...sigh.
I am thinking to move them to another site & give another try..
then heard that we are in for triple digit temps next week...
I will just have to build me a green house I am a thinkin!!
Weee almost Monday..another week ....Let's do this thing!!

REL, I had really wanted the straw bales but they were all sold out I had to buy 8 bags of potting soil so we will both have expensive produce but we will have fun.
I m behind I have the lockers finished I planted tomatoes very closed I might take one out and put it somewhere else .
I have Zucchini, cukes, beans, onions, lettuce and spinach. I really want to grow Butternut squash but so far no plants left. I am still looking as best as I can right now. I will call Longfellow's and check if they have any. No seeds either. most of the slots were EMPTY, that is exciting so many people are growing things. HUGS I am with you and HALE a warm tomato tastes so great right of the plant. I Can t wait till they are there

Well, they may not burrow under but they'll just climb on top. I fought with them for 6 years down here and finally gave up on the garden. It was small and in the pool area (kept the deer out) but the ground hogs even tunneled under our retaining wall and walks.
