WATCH IT COME OFF!
I am a yo-yo dieter and of an age that it's time to finally loose the weight and keep it off. I'm aiming for a loss of 1 lb/week and should reach my goal by July 2012. I am a life time member of W8Watchers, but a "fallen angel". My overall goal is to pave the way for me to live the rest of my life in optimal health. I want to feel as young as I am in my mind's eye! Update: Today, May 15th, is my One Year Anniversary with Spark people.com! It has been an interesting and challenging journey. Originally, I set my goal for a loss of 70 pounds, which would have moved me from my start of 211 to 141. Since reaching that, I have reset my goal in terms of a healthy BMI of 23?.. now I'm aiming for a weight of about 136 pounds, with the aim of never going above 140 longer term. It's a different stage now in terms of trying to be a bit more balanced with living life. I feel very fit but the psychology of maintaining a healthy weight is a yet unknown and a bit scary.. to have worked so hard to "get here". I will keep you posted and for anyone reading this, if you have reached your goal and maintained it for some time I'd like to know how you did it. There are days more frequently now than in my earlier part of this journey where I just want to hang my hat up, so to speak, and go on holiday! Update May 13/13: My Two Year Anniversary! A lot has happened this past 8 months. Last Sept. I became ill and lost more weight.. down to 130 lbs. I remain off work at this time, and because I have been bedridden for part of the year and recovering, I ate more than I should have.. even though I pushed myself to exercise. I will be better but it will likely take many more months. Now is a time of recuperation.. I'm not feeling 100% but so much better that I was looking into buying a bike... something I had planned to do last year but put off as I started feeling so unwell. Bottom line, I have gained 10 lbs that need to go. I made myself change my ticker to reflect this. Better now than wait any longer! Wish me well as I wish you all the best in your efforts too! ---------------------------------------- -------------------------------------- ---------------------------- "Be the change you wish to see in the world" ~Ghandi "love is the simple gathering of human kindnesses" "The thought manifests as the word. Personal Information:
I live in Ontario, Canada and have been married to a wonderful man for 39 years! Five years ago in January we lost our 21 year old son Michael to depression. It has been a long struggle back to caring about anything. I will always be defined by my three children, it's just that two are no longer with us. I enjoy the four seasons of Canada, even winter!! I like working out on the treadmill at home and at the gym, the elliptical. I absolutely am in my groove when I am out in nature! Gardening is my favourite hobby, where I feel the presence of Michael most keenly and my way of play and meditation.
Other Information:
I try to take life one day at a time, especially when it comes to weight loss and lifestyle change. Patience is key!
