    Hi Asta,

You mentioned footwear. I used to be a runner so I pick the best running shoes that are available because I need the support. However now that I am not running anymore I need a high quality pair of walking shoes. I have been using my running shoes to walk and that is a different type of support. I am going to a shoe store that specializes in getting individuals in the right pair of shoes. They carry orthopedic shoes and such but I don't think I need a pair of those yet.

I think what's going on with my feet in plantar fasciitis. I have had it before years ago and I think it's acting up again. I have been doing my stretches, using a rolling pin to massage the bottom of my feet. Once I get a walking shoe, I think I will be fine. I will look into the SAS shoe you mentioned.

Hope your day is going well.

Oh and yes I do count casual steps also. My 10,000 step count isn't totally exercise related. Although I do like to get at least 4 vigorous workouts in a week! Just something that I have always done and it's hard to unring that bell sometimes. I do find a balance though and I listen to my body and rest when it tells me to.

    You take care,

It is the ONE. I like it. Not perfect, but I am content. You do know that those steps can be cumulative over the entire day...casual walking counts. You don't have to push so hard every day. Whatever you do, just keep doing something..keep moving. Make good choices. That's why we are all here on be encouraged to do those things.

Thanks Asta for the info. I did research and most of the wrist activity trackers only pick up steps while on the wrist. Mine keeps track of my heart rate so the only way to do that is while it is on the wrist. I like the heart rate feature because when I exercise at high intensity I need to make sure my heart rate doesn't go beyond 160. I have a tendency to go into the 170's and that is to high for me. I am not wearing it today because I am having a rest day. I am the type of person who gets obsessed with things and if I put it on today I will have to get my 10,000 steps and my body is saying no!

The Fitbit One is able to be put in the pocket, so I may get me one of those too! I will use that when I am not working out at a high intensity. It is definitely taking me some getting use to wearing something on my wrist.

    Which Fitbit do you have?
