The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step...
A huge thank you to Spark People and all my spark friends and team mates who have been a constant source of encouragement and support on my journey! I have come and gone a few times, and I slipped a bit from my path at times but this is a journey and I know that with consistency and motivation and by making healthy choices each day, I can be a healthier person! I am so grateful for Spark People and all the amazing people that are on this path with me to a healthier lifestyle!

Purple is the color that symbolizes pancreatic cancer and also happened to be one of my mother's favorite colors. I am coloring my page purple in honor of Mom...Mom passed away on April 12, 2013 after a long and courageous battle of more than 6 1/2 years with pancreatic cancer. I was so blessed to have had such a wonderful Mom. I miss her terribly but am so thankful that she is now free of pain and suffering and she leaves behind her wonderful legacy to her 3 children and 15 grand children. I will love you always Mom and I see your sweet spirit in the faces of your grand children and know that we all have a special angel named Lu in Heaven watching over us and guiding us.
As I struggle through the grieving process I will be writing about the experience in my blog. My hope is that this might help someone else who is going through the sadness and grief of losing a friend or loved one, or even the loss of life as they once knew it. Grieving can take many forms during our life here on earth.
