    Welcome to SparkPeople!

One of my daily goals is to hit 100 SparkPoints. When I do that, I've not only read articles, I've interacted with other members by reading and commenting on their blogs and writing my own blog. 100 points gets me here and gets me active each and every day.

When I started, I made the commitment to workout daily and write a blog about it. On days when I don't feel like doing it, I think about the blog I need to write and I certainly do NOT want to write that I was lazy and did not work out.

Maintain your goals on your SparkPage (that's what all the goal-setting gurus write about) and make the goals public on your page. Write about it on your blog every day.

Weight loss = calorie maintenance, cardio, and strength. Calorie maintenance is every day, cardio is at least five days per week, and strength is 3 to 4 days per week. I believe you need all three for a successful weight loss and fitness program.

Above all, be consistent. Doing something toward you goal every day will pay big rewards over the next few months. You can do this!

WELCOME Bobby! THANK YOU for your service!!!
Nice to have you with us! I love my Sparkworld, and so will you!

Here are tips I put together to share with each new Sparkperson I meet. I hope it will be a help to you as you work toward reaching your goals!

The site can be overwhelming, take your time. Learn one topic at a time, when you get comfortable with it, move on to another area of the site. Soon you will be using all the tools SP has to offer, and loving it!

If you get stuck, and have a technical question about the site, here is a link to the Customer Support Team that is eager to help you:
    http://www.sparkpeople.com/community/hel
    p_support.asp
(only technical questions, if you have a nutrition, fitness, or health question, post the question in the Forums, other Spark members will eagerly try to help you!

Use your Spark Points (click on view SparkPoints) as a map to the site. It is a good way to learn your way around and you can earn points to send yourself or others Sparkgoodies.

Go back to your Start Page if you get lost, you can get almost anywhere from there.

Be sure to use the nutrition tracker. You can ensure you are getting the proper nutrients as well as tracking your caloric intake and this is so important to any weight loss journey.

Never "diet" again! Keep focusing on living a healthier lifestyle!

Read the book, THE SPARK for guidance, motivation and inspiration!

Log on everyday to stay focused!

    NEVER QUIT!! NEVER GIVE UP!
THINK POSITIVE! If you have a bad day, let it go.
Wake up to a new day, fresh start!

One of my favorite SP quotes (from BobbyD31)
    "Remember we all have Setbacks:
ACCEPT it, HANDLE it, and MOVE ON!

Remember, this is a LIFETIME JOURNEY!!

The online community on the site is wonderful! We are all here to offer support when you need it, and celebrate your successes with you. Any type of interest you have, there will be a Sparkteam for it!

Stop by my Sparkpage anytime and let me know how you are doing! I would love to hear from you!

Enjoy your journey to a healthier you!

    Have FUN along the way!

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Thank you for your service. ANY time is a great time to start with Sparkpeople. Give yourself a big hug for making this positive choice for yourself. Take your time to explore all the resources available for you here. It can seem overwhelming because there are so many resources to choose from. Two to consider using are the Nutrition and Fitness Trackers. Also, check out Spark Teams under the COMMUNITY Tab. Do searches on your goals, interests, hobbies, whatever. Then join one, two or more Spark teams. You'll enjoy getting to know these folks and giving and getting lots of encouragement along the way. It's all good. Enjoy the journey!
