Before Nikki (and I am not this heavy again...but about 30 lbs lighter than in this photo)
After Nikki...once I'd lost the 101lbs. the first time, 218 to 116.5 felt so good!
Right before going out on New Year's after losing the weight. I really love that blouse!
Here I go again! I have been on a long journey...started out over 10 years ago, lost 101 lbs in 1 year and 2 days. Unfortunately, I have gained about 70 back in the last couple of years, and am shooting for reduction in weight back to my target weight. See the pictures for the change I'm trying to enact, once more!
As I mentioned, I gained about 70 or so lbs whilst traveling for work...hotel food...variable schedules...alcoholic beverages then broken bones, more travel, gyms closing...so the goal is to lose that 70 lbs...to get close to my weight of 116, as in the photo.
I have an agreement with my cardiologist and my manager that there will be no more travel, or minimal travel; no back to back trips, no getting up at 3am to catch the 5:30am flight somewhere to come home at 2am the following morning. I am working hard toward a regimented scheduled.
I typically take in approximately 1200 kcal/day (~40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat)...usually decreasing the fat in lieu of carbs for working out. My exercise routine was recently upended by my gym deciding they were going to start closing at 7pm now. Considering most days i don't leave work until 6pm, making it to the gym and getting in a satisfying workout by 7pm is nigh impossible. I have become self-trainer extraordinaire, with my stationary cycle and under-desk elliptical in the house for those days that are too hot or humid to be outside walking, and I have really started walking...at least to warm up - and taking the dog!!! Then, for strength training, I am working with resistance bands and some weights, along with doing a lot of muscle lengthening/toning exercises from some ballet-trained dancers, work on the balance ball, and of course, I recently invested in Coach Nicole's 28-day Boot Camp, which has been rewarding.
While I am not really from anywhere (military brat) I currently live in Texas...home of four of the 10 fattest cities in the country. It is hot here in the summer and miserable in the winter, so the extent of my outdoor activities involves diving and driving.
I spend my free time with friends in Austin, Houston and Dallas; working out; driving in the TX Hill Country; scuba diving wherever I can; or visiting with family.
I am pet parent to eight fantastically furry and friendly felines (and I have a thing for aliteration, if you couldn't tell) and a sweet, and very sociable dog.
