I am a dietitian, so the eating balance is something I do a fair job with. Mainly I want to maintain my weight and tone up. My downfall in the past was an exercise component. So far Sparkpeople has helped with my motivation to have a healthier lifestyle for a couple of years. I love this website.

Fitness Minutes: 35,048

My Goals:
To walk/run my dog at least 4-5 times a week.
Goal: Run the 5K distance without walking [Met goal!]. Maybe even a race by Spring[Met goal 28:24 1st 5K].
New goal 10K trail run!

To continue strength training again to tone up at least 3 times per wk (1 of which is ab session).
Goal: Hmm 6 pack abs
or 10 pullups [Met goal!]

To continue a healthy diet
Goal: Menus/grocery shopping
Goal: 2 fruit servings per day not including juice (I am great at vegetable intake, but my fruit servings are low).

My Program:
I try to eat whole grains, have vegetarian meals often, avoid empty calorie sweets, and still have my indulgence of cheese and a glass of wine.

I work out at home 90% of the time.

Trail run/jog at least 1-2 times per week. Hike 1-2 times per week.

Using Sparkpeople workout suggestions or using Sparkpeople videos for strength training.

Tennis occasionally. Swimming at the pool in the summer.

Personal Information:
I live in North Carolina. I'm originally from West Virginia and my dad is still a coal miner there.

I've been a Registered Dietitian for 5 years. I work in a hospital so most of my patients are undernourished. My job is more about pumping people up (with tubefeeding or in general) rather than weight control. Just an FYI.
