My Goals:
I finally got back to my old size again! So happy, but now, I want to keep myself here. I'm working on the last 2-3 pounds of weight loss and continuing to eat healthy and exercise regularly.

My Program:
I am drinking my water (8-10 8oz glasses/day), trying to eat healthy and taking my vitamins and supplements.
For fitness, I teach Nia 2x a week, take a Nia class with another instructor 1X a week, spin 1X a week and co-teach Zumba 2X a week. I also do weight training 2X a week and yoga 2X a week. I find that it is good to mix up the workouts to exercise all the muscle groups and keep your body guessing. Nia though has really been the thing that has helped me to get back into my size 0 and size 2 pants again!

Personal Information:
I'm 33 and a research scientist by trade, but I am currently on a new career path in fitness and nutrtition. I attended a Nia White Belt certification in NYC in February 2010 and it changed my life! I also am authorized to teach Zumba and earned my Primary Group Instructor certification through AFAA. I now teach Nia 2x a week and co-teach Zumba 2X a week at the New York Sports Club gyms in Princeton, NJ.
I am also finishing up my Associate degree in Exercise Science this year and I will be starting a BS program in Dietetics in another year to become a Registered Dietician! In addition to all of that, I just graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrtion and am now a certified Health Coach (specializing in holistic nutrtion)! As for my personal life, I got engaged in April to an amazing Army Staff Sergeant in April! We fell in love the moment we met and cannot wait to start our lives together! My futrure is so bright and I am so thankful!

Other Information:
Favorite TV shows:
True Blood (HBO), Dancing with the Stars, Top Chef, Project Runway, So You Think You Can Dance, Castle
Favorite music: Depeche Mode, the Smiths, the Cure, The Birthday Massacre, Kerli, Bjork, Tarkan (Turkish singer who is amazing), any techno/ electronic/ gothic industrial/dance music

I ordered some NIA DVDs the other day and am interested in trying it. Can you tell me a bit more about the healing aspect of it?

Kindest Wishes,
Katrina :)

PS I am looking for an alternative to Zumba as that is high impact for me and wears me out for a couple of days. Given that my health can be up and down, I thought NIA might be a better option for me. Your thoughts are most appreciated.
