Me at my heaviest
Kitty Bear Close-Up
Back on SparkPeople after a long absence.
Although I joined in 2009, i really did nothing to start Sparking until June 1st of 2010. I am planning to get down to a normal weight, so that I can subject myself to a major surgery. But it doesn't end there. Once the hernia is gone and my weight is way down, exercise will be MUCH easier, and I will be able to stay thin.
I am on a freestyle program. I try to eat 70% fresh and raw veggies and fruit and 30% everything else. I know that processed meats, from deli meats to sausage, cause colon cancer, so I am not eating them any more. I also avoid foods from a box. Even if it's organic, if it is in a box, it is HIGHLY PROCESSED and basically garbage from our bodies' points of view. I am finished eating fried food. I know that causes heart disease and has no place in my diet. I want to get thin AND healthy!
I was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, brought up on lots of meat, gravy, potatoes and canned veggies. I never saw broccoli until high school.
I married at 17. My ex joined the Air Force and we moved to Rantoul, IL(9 months), then to Fort Walton Beach, Florida(5 years), then to Victorville, CA(9 months), and finally to South Florida around Fort Lauderdale.
I am 54 and I have a 36 year old son, who is a wonderful person! I also have a 16 year old grandson, who is also a great person.
I am a Quality Inspector for aerospace metals for the past 4 years or so.
I am single, but in a relationship with my Canadian boyfriend for the past 11 years.
I love music! I love Elton John, Peter Gabriel, George Harrison, Jethro Tull, David Bowie, Genesis, Dave Matthews, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, and many more. I tend to get hung up on one artist at a time.
I like to read. Historical biographies, fantasy, autobiographies, crime dramas, novels.
I enjoy sewing clothing, mostly for myself.
I enjoy movies. One of my favorites is American Beauty. I love Kevin Spacey.
I am an avid birdwatcher and nature photographer. Florida is blessed with a diversity of wildlife, so it is great fun to get out there and see it, but mostly in the late fall to late spring. It is too hot in the summer to go hiking in the blazing sun and humidity.
