Personal Information:
I earned my Ph.D. in 2011 and teach psychology at a small liberal arts college.

I am married with two kids, THREE cats, a dog and two bunnies.

I have recently discovered the joy of weight lifting, thanks to the book, "New Rules of Lifting for Women". "Starting Strength" has also been helpful.

Otherwise, I enjoy sitting on my butt, playing on the interwebs, reading, cooking, playing video games (mostly Zelda), and planning to defeat the Empire.

Other Information:
I'm sick of being implicitly told I'm incompetent because I'm not yet in the "lucky 5%" (can anyone verify that number?) who actually loses weight and keeps it off.

I'm sick of subscribing to the patriarchal ideals that my self worth as a woman is tied up in physical attractiveness, therefore putting me at the mercy of a weight loss industry and a food industry that feed off of one another in their goal of making sure I fail.
