2012 was a year of challenges, and I may not have faced them the healthiest way. I sort of hit my own "don't give a darn" button and as a result, the A1c hit a an all-time high. So now I need to hit the other button, the one that says You have the tools, now use them.
2013 all in all, not much better than 2012. Not as many challenges, and the A1c did go down with a little control on my part. Thinking about every bite, snack on a table, snack time, etc. only lasts through breakfast. ...

So it is almost January, and time to renew my efforts. An approaching mother of the groom status is a bit of a goal.
So..knowing that all aspects of SP work well for me...it's time to use the tools at hand.

My Goals:
A healthy will make life easier all the way around.
LONG TERM GOAL: Release the weight and despite the odds, continue with a healthy lifestyle with the help of SP.
See my beautiful grandchildren grow up.

SHORT TERM FOCUS:
DS wedding at the end of Sept.
Make a concerted effort to eat healthier real foods-slow foods-without too much processing. " Real food does not come though a car window. "
FOCUS on being more active and being outdoors.



My Program:
I am using the Nutrition Tracker as a guide to a healthy diet. When I see it written down, and I have to be honest to myself, I am more likely to be conscious of my intake instead of just grazing. Surprisingly, I find I enjoy the visua ltracking of the WATER drinking. Eating a rainbow of fruits and veggies is my goal.

Personal Information:
I am 65years old. Live in San Jose CA with husband, . Have 2 grown sons with successful lives and 2 of the most beautiful and talented grandchildren who live so far away.

Other Information:
Enjoy reading when given the chance, and I can find my glasses. Debbie Macomber is escapist author, and jane Austen for the classical approach. Have joined a book club and have broadened my scope of reading.

I am the new team leader of the group Getting Healthy in 2013 but as you might realize there has not been any posting in a few months.

I have revised the group - so come to my sparkpage to get to it - I am assuming you are still intereted in the group - we are now having the theme - no flour / no sugar / no processed food / daily exercise = if you are ready to commit to making 2013 a healthy year and are willing to participate regularly I would love to have you join me

Sheesh, comp giving me hard time today. Hey Cuz you look awesome!!! I'm proud of you and insipired. Got a bike for my birthday and thankfully remember how to ride. :^D landrider takin' some getting use to the shocks in seat & handlebar. Biked w/kids day b4 yesterday & able to walk the next day...yea team.
