Not getting older, getting better!

Hi, my name is Sue. I am just over 5 ft; and at 50, I weighed 175 lbs. I decided to get healthy and stay that way. I lost 65 lbs. in about a year. Alhtough my weight varies some. I try to keep it around 105 . By keeping focused on what I eat and exercising, I have been able to maintain this weight!

It's all about changing your life, not just going on a diet!

It's all about changing your life, not just going on a diet!

I'm 65 now! Some of the amazing things I have been able to do thanks to losing weight and gaining a lot of strength from workingout (I never lifted a weight until I was 50.) I became a fitness instructor in my 50's. At 60, I took up pole. As you can see from the pictures, I have progressed. I am even an instructor now. At 65, I decided to try aerial silks. It's even more challenging than pole, but I was able to do it (climb and invert, etc.) I now also teach aerial hammock (an easier form of aerial workout). I hope to keep up my workout schedule as many years as I can. No one at the gym or the studio can believe how old I am! I was even featured in an article in our town's "50 Plus" magazine with a picture of me doing a trick on the pole.

The first picture is before and the rest of the pictures are all after! I've come a long way, and you can too!!! So no excuses that you're too old or too out of shape. Unless you are sick or have a disability to prevent it, I believe anyone who really wants to can do it!

These aren't my words. I read them on someone else's page. They were so awesome, I copied them here so I could always remember them!

Don’t say “I NEED to lose weight, I HAVE to lose weight, I’ve GOT to lose weight.
During quiet time say to yourself:

I can’t wait to lose this fat.
I want to lose this weight.
I’m one-hundred percent committed to losing this weight.
I know that sometimes I’m going to fail, BUT I know I will learn from the mistakes and go on, because it will be so enjoyable to live my life like this.
I’ve decided to lose this weight. I will feel so much better, if I make this change. I can’t wait to transform my body, so I can wear pretty clothes, so I can feel more attractive. I want to feel stronger, healthier and more alive.
I feel so excited to lose this weight.
I’m 100% committed to becoming thin.
I know if I commit to eating well and exercising, my body is going to transform and I’m going to feel better about myself. I’m going to feel more alive and I’m going to enjoy wearing pretty clothes. I’ll be more confident in social gatherings.
I’m going to talk to myself with love about why this will be such a great change for me.
