2015 Winter 5% Challenge Exercise Commitment:

My exercise plan for this 2015 Winter 5% challenge is to do a minimum of 10 minutes of exercise every day, and aim for a minimum of 400 minutes of exercise per month. My exercise will include a variety of: yoga, upper/lower body strength class, and walking. My goal is to average 7,500 steps daily.

2015 Winter 5% Nutrition Plan:

For the 2015 Winter 5% challenge I will be following the Weight Watchers diet plan while aiming to eat clean, limit processed foods, and limit sugar and white flour.
My pledge for the 2015 Winter 5% Challenge is to make this the time to achieve my goals. I am here to inspire, support and motivate others in their journey while receiving the same on my journey.

On my team page I will daily record my exercise and Living the Good Life points, and I will weigh and record my weight weekly. I will check with my team at least three times per week. I will visit team members' pages and blogs as much as I can.

I will STAY FOCUSED and NEVER GIVE UP!

My 2015 goals:

1. Accumulate 1,200 miles through walking, biking, or use of the elliptical.
2. Achieve my goal weight by losing 2 pounds monthly

My Program:
60 minutes yoga three times weekly
60 minutes Qigong once weekly
60 minutes upper/lower body strength two times weekly
30 cardio four times weekly


Personal Information:
My name is Barbara, aka Barbie. I live in Roseburg, Oregon. I will turn 65 in May, widowed on November 12, 2013. I have three children, a grown daughter who has a 22 year old daughter and a 15 year old son; a grown son who has a son who will be 18 at the end of April; and I had one son who died 22 years ago at the age of 15+ in a downhill skiing accident. I retired just a couple of months before my husband became so ill, so now that he is gone, I am still learning how to fill my days, and fix meals for one.

Other Information:
I got a dog after my husband's death, a Padderdale Terrier (looks like a miniature black lab), named Marv in memory of my husband who had a collection of Marvin the Martian things.
I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, card making, quilting, and knitting. I am learning how to take care of the lawn and garden which were Bill's pride and joy. I love the sunshine and being outdoors.

I quess persistence pays off. When I weighed in at the doctor last Monday. I was a 1/2 pound heavier than last night when I weighed in at TOPS. It is nice seeing the scale go down again.
