Summer 2017 5% Challenge Exercise Commitment:

As I get ready to start the 5% Summer 2017 Challenge, I continue to suffer from sciatic pain and hip bursitis after over a year and a half which has definitely interfered with my motivation to do my regular exercise. I have had some shots which only temporarily relieved the pain so now I am trying to establish a habit of stretching and strengthening to help alleviate the pain. I am determined to persevere and get back into my regular fitness routine and show the scale who is boss.. My exercise plan for the Summer 5% challenge is:
1. Monday/Wednesday/Friday - 30 minutes or longer cardio (walking preferably), 10 minutes or more stretching and strengthening the IT band area, and 60 minute yoga class.
2. Tuesday/Thursday - 30 minutes or longer cardio (walking preferably), 10 minutes or more stretching and strengthening the IT band area, and 40 minutes or more strength.
3. Saturday and Sunday- 10 minutes cardio (preferably walking) and 10 minutes stretching and strengthening the IT band area.

Summer 2017 5% Challenge Nutrition Plan:
My pledge for the Summer 2017 5% challenge is to achieve my weight loss goals. I plan to eat clean at least 75% of the time by limiting processed foods and sugar. I will eat more vegetables and fruits and less white carbs. I am here to inspire, support and motivate others in their journey while receiving the same on my journey.

On my team page I will daily record my exercise and Living the Good Life points, and I will weigh and record my weight weekly. I will check with my team at least three times per week. I will visit team members' pages and blogs as much as I can.

I will STAY FOCUSED and NEVER GIVE UP!

Personal Information:
My name is Barbara, aka Barbie. I live in Roseburg, Oregon. I am 67, widowed on November 12, 2013. I have three children, a grown daughter who has a 24 year old daughter and an 18 year old son; a grown son who has a son who is 20 and working in the woods as a logger, and I had one son who died 24 years ago at the age of 15+ in a downhill skiing accident. I retired just a couple of months before my husband became so ill, so now that he is gone, I am still learning how to fill my days, and fix meals for one.


Other Information:
I got a dog after my husband's death, a Padderdale Terrier (looks like a miniature black lab), named Marv in memory of my husband who had a collection of Marvin the Martian things.
I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, card making, quilting, and knitting. I am learning how to take care of the lawn and garden which were Bill's pride and joy. I love the sunshine and being outdoors.
