Summer 5% Challenge Exercise Commitment:

As I get ready to start the 5% Summer Challenge, I have been continuing to suffer from sciatic pain which has limited my fitness activities, and I am starting this challenge with the scale being higher than when I finished my last 5% challenge. However, I am determined to persevere and show the scale who is boss. I am upping my exercise goals for the Summer5% challenge. My plan is:
1. Walk daily, 30 to 60 minutes
2. 60 minute yoga class two to three times weekly
3. 60 minute Enhance Fitness class three times weekly which includes some strength

Summer 5% Nutrition Plan:
I have been following the Weight Watchers nutrition plan, but also aiming to eat clean, limiting processed foods and sugar.
My pledge for the Summer 5% Challenge is to make this the time to achieve my goals. I am here to inspire, support and motivate others in their journey while receiving the same on my journey.

On my team page I will daily record my exercise and Living the Good Life points, and I will weigh and record my weight weekly. I will check with my team at least three times per week. I will visit team members' pages and blogs as much as I can.

I will STAY FOCUSED and NEVER GIVE UP!

Personal Information:
My name is Barbara, aka Barbie. I live in Roseburg, Oregon. I am 66, widowed on November 12, 2013. I have three children, a grown daughter who has a 23 year old daughter and a 17 year old son; a grown son who has a son who is 19 and working in the woods as a logger, and I had one son who died 23 years ago at the age of 15+ in a downhill skiing accident. I retired just a couple of months before my husband became so ill, so now that he is gone, I am still learning how to fill my days, and fix meals for one.

Other Information:
I got a dog after my husband's death, a Padderdale Terrier (looks like a miniature black lab), named Marv in memory of my husband who had a collection of Marvin the Martian things.
I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, card making, quilting, and knitting. I am learning how to take care of the lawn and garden which were Bill's pride and joy. I love the sunshine and being outdoors.

Quote by Coach Nicole: Exercise is not a means to an end. It's a tool for living your best life.

Putting your life on hold, waiting for something to happen in a situation
that is going no where is like waiting for water to boil
when you never turned on the heat to begin with.

There is no growth without change.
You’ve got to let go of some old stuff.
And that can hurt. Often when I’m in the most pain,
I realize it’s coming from my trying to control everything.
Or resisting the changes that come with the progress.
But you see that light… that beautiful next level…
and that’s what you have to focus on..
