Fall 5% Challenge Exercise Commitment:

I have a tendency to over commit on exercise so for this Fall 5% challenge I am going to make it simple: Do a minimum of 10 minutes of exercise every day, and aim to consistently do 60 minutes, or more, of exercise a minimum of 6 days per week. My exercise will include a variety of: yoga, aqua zumba, qigong, walking, and strength. My goal is to cover 7,500 steps daily, or an average of 7,500 steps every day.

Fall 5% Nutrition Plan:

For the Fall 5% challenge I will be following the Weight Watchers diet plan while aiming to eat clean, limit processed foods, and limit sugar.
My pledge for the Fall 5% Challenge is to make this the time to achieve my goals while healing from the loss of my best friend and husband on November 12, 2013. I am here to inspire, support and motivate others in their journey while receiving the same on my journey.

On my team page I will daily record my exercise and Living the Good Life points, and I will weigh and record my weight weekly. I will check with my team at least three times per week. I will visit team members' pages and blogs as much as I can.

I will STAY FOCUSED and NEVER GIVE UP!

Personal Information:
My name is Barbara, aka Barbie. I live in Roseburg, Oregon. I will turn 64 in May, recently widowed on November 12, 2013. I have three children, a grown daughter who has a 21 year old daughter and a 15 year old son; a grown son who has a son who will be 17 at the end of April; and I had one son who died 21 years ago at the age of 15+ in a downhill skiing accident. I retired just a couple of months before my husband became so ill, so now that he is gone, I am learning how to fill my days.

Other Information:
I got a dog after my husband's death, a Padderdale Terrier (looks like a miniature black lab), named Marv in memory of my husband who had a collection of Marvin the Martian things.
I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, card making, quilting, and knitting. I am learning how to take care of the lawn and garden which were Bill's pride and joy. I love the sunshine and being outdoors.

Quote by Coach Nicole: Exercise is not a means to an end. It's a tool for living your best life.

The holidays can be a stressful time....so much to do...and so little time. De-stress at every opportunity. What does stress do to your health habits? It usually foils them. It takes over your good judgment leaving you at the mercy of comfort foods. Not this year!! Learn to recognize your stress level. Maybe it's your tone of voice. Maybe it's trying to read the same paragraph five times. Maybe it's hearing everyone speak at once but not really listening to anyone. That's when you need to relax. Take a five-minute time-out for yourself. Get away from the crowd. Breathe deeply and relax your muscles. Close your eyes and remember what you're thankful for: When you return to your family, they'll wonder why you look so refreshed!

emoticon The year-end brings no greater pleasure than the opportunity to express good wishes. May your Holidays and the New Year be filled with Happiness!
