My journey to wellbeing....

I have dieted all my life and tried everything I could find to help take my weight to a normal range. Diet pills, liquid protein drinks, Lean Line, TOPS, Weight Watchers, Nutrition System, Jenny Craig, Atkins, Michael Thurman, eating disorder therapy, and anti-depression pills are some of the means I have tried. I have lost 100+ pounds at least three times, and each time regained the weight plus more. The longest I have maintained a 100+ weight loss was 5 years. I thought I had my weight ...

I have lost 100+ pounds at least three times, and each time regained the weight plus more. The longest I have maintained a 100+ weight loss was 5 years. I thought I had my weight under control by 5 years. Wrong… I regained plus more. Then I stopped smoking in 2002, after smoking since I was a teenager, and was very proud of myself… but, I also gained 50 lbs. As I was trying to get healthy and lose that weight, my dad passed away. This was traumatic and I found comfort again in food.

I have many medical conditions now which are considered co-morbidity conditions. I’m scared that if I don’t lose the weight now, I am risking my life. I have researched weight loss surgery and believe this is my answer. Weight loss surgery can be a very good tool to not only take off the weight, but to also maintain the loss. I’m in the process of making that surgery a reality. With the wonderful friends I have met here, with their support and encouragement, I know I will finally be victorious.
