I've been looking for an online community to support my interest in healthy eating and healthy living. And I do believe I've found it in Spark People!

Update: September 27, 2010

Almost 8 months later ... and I realized this morning that I'm meeting my goal. With SP's help, my food choices are much better, portion sizes are smaller and I'm exercising almost daily now for at least 40 minutes. Yes, I still weigh myself now and then, but not weekly anymore. I'm ...

Almost 8 months later ... and I realized this morning that I'm meeting my goal. With SP's help, my food choices are much better, portion sizes are smaller and I'm exercising almost daily now for at least 40 minutes. Yes, I still weigh myself now and then, but not weekly anymore. I'm back into the green zone on the BMI chart, and I realize that as long as I continue making good choices, I'll keep losing weight, albeit gradually. Life is good!

Thank you SP friends for your encouragement. I hope I am reciprocating by helping you too. And thank you SP staff for this amazing website - keep up the great work! What a positive difference this is making to the world!!

My Goals:
To lose weight but to do so by making permanent healthy changes to my lifestyle.

My Program:
Recording food several times a week to make sure I'm on track. Keep making improvements to our food choices using info found on SP.

Cardio - Walking (LS, treadmill and outside), snowshoeing, biking) 5 or 6 x a week for at least 30 minutes.

Using SP strengthening exercises 3x week.

Personal Information:
Live on a farm with my DH of 32 years. Have 2 children (now in their 20's).

Trained as reflexologist, reiki master/teacher, breathwork facilitator.

I don't think you can purchase fresh coconut milk. You have to get your own coconut and cut it open to get the milk out. emoticon

Happy Sunday. Hope you're summer is going great. Are you still on track to do all you can today to reach your goals tomorrow? If so, great! If not, what can you change today that will help you feel accomplished? One little thing. Drink more water? Cut out soda? Go for a walk? Small changes add up.
