"The person who wrote best about love in the Christian era was Paul of Tarsus, who became St. Paul. He is a super intellectual guy, but he is fierce. He writes this ode to love, which everybody knows from his letter to the Corinthians: “Love is patient, love is kind … love bears all things, love believes all things.” How do you write these things when you are at your lowest ebb? I am looking to somebody like Paul, who was in prison and writing these love letters, and thinking, “How does that happen? It is amazing.”" _Bono

1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (I Corinthians 13, New International Version)

Let Your Light Shine
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." _Marianne Williamson

"When people ask me what the most important thing is in life, I answer, 'Just Breathe.' "
_Yoko Ono

My Goals:
My overall vision is to lose weight, improve my cardiovascular health, and build muscle. My hip has been bothering me, with being in pain. So I'm going to work on exercises to make my hip muscles stronger.

My Program:
I ride my stationary bike 25 minutes every day. I'm working up to 30 minutes a day, which is what they say you need to do to start burning fat. Every other day, I do 80 wall push ups. When I've reached 100 wall push ups, I'm going to begin incline push ups, and then transition to regular push ups when I'm ready for that. I weigh myself once a week on Monday. I take measurements of myself once a month, at the beginning of the month.

If you've added me as a friend, please give me a little goodie and let me know, so I can add you back. I've turned off my notification emails, have SparkMail turned off, and have disabled comments because I need a break from all that. I didn't grow up with the internet in my home, and I don't think I can ever get used to the social aspect of this site. So I simplified everything. I also have some other projects that seriously need my attention, such as my email backlog and a volunteer thing I'm doing. Also, if it's more convenient for you to use actual emails, rather than goodies, give me your email address, and we'll correspond that way. Thank you!
