The Grove

I've made a fresh commitment to fitness, and to releasing the excess weight. I've recently had a painful reminder of why I have spent so many years self medicating with food. It is time to take back my dignity.
Those who have hurt me before have no power over me now.

My goal is to live my life as simply and cleanly as I can, without excess, and with harm to none.

My Program:
I am learning to treat my self and my body with the same kindness that I would show a beloved family member.

I am learning to make less use of my car, and more use of my bike and pulic transportation.

I am learning to make food choices that give my body all the nutrients it needs without excess.

No problem, I'm flattered! I remember when my daughters were young and I had no idea what to do and there weren't books or anything. I pretty much stumbled through each sabbat until we finally had a few traditions of our own. =)

When we smudge the house we all carry something: salted water with an aspirigill (rosemary sprig, usually. Tree smigglings if we have any.); lit smoking smudge; smoking incense; bells; drum; depends on howmany ppl are doing it. We sing a chant while we do it, usually loudly and off key lol

I use to have real circles for holdiays but no one liked it much, now the last few years we've set up candles on the table for earth air fire water with a purple "spirit" in the center. Light them and say, "By the earth that is her body --light the earth one, by the air that is her breath--light the air one, by the fire ...etc our circle is cast!

Then we smudge the tree and bless it with salt water and bless/splash each other. Each ornament we put on the tree gets a spell (ie cane of candy may life be dandy or golden pinecone, we want our own home!) make them up on the spot.

Happy Yule!! (((HUGS)))

Thats just awesome that your sister lives there. How did it happen that she got residency--I hear it's difficult. I'm so looking forward to going, I've always wanted to. And 4 months will be long enough to REALLY see the culture.
