Army Wife Meets PT

I'm a 24 year old Army wife who loves my husband and our life. We have 2 kids... a boy and a girl born a little over a year apart, both by c-section. Basically, I spent 2 years being pregnant, and have struggled with losing the weight. However, I am fed up with it at this point, and I am determined to be a healthier, happier me - for myself, my husband, and my kids. I / they deserve better. Basically, I want to be healthier, happier, and better all around. I don't believe there's anything wrong ...

However, I am fed up with it at this point, and I am determined to be a healthier, happier me - for myself, my husband, and my kids. I / they deserve better. Basically, I want to be healthier, happier, and better all around. I don't believe there's anything wrong with being over-weight; it doesn't make you unattractive, less of a person, or worthless, and it doesn't mean anything is wrong with you - until it begins affecting your health, your happiness, and the other people in your life. When I realized that I was too overweight to be able to keep up with my 2 year old son for more than 5 - 10 minutes at a time, and found that I didn't have the energy to take him outside to play, then I realized that I was not only missing out on enjoying my baby, but that I was also the main influence in his life, teaching him by example how to be lazy, unmotivated, and unhealthy. When I realized that, a lightbulb went on and I decided it's time to start actively making a change, rather than just thinking about it and wishin things were different.

Now, I am motivated, hopeful, and excited! I know it's going to take a lot of hard work and determination, but I am going to reach my goals!

My Goals:
I want to reach my goal weight of 145 lbs (a total weight loss of 65 pounds) by my next anniversary - which is 7 months from now (March 2010).

My Program:
I am committing to working out for at least 20 minutes every day, cutting out midnight snacking, and trying out new ways to exercise to keep things interesting so I don't get bored, which for me, can lead to loss of motivation. I am doing Belly Dancing Fitness, Walking, and am going to start Kick Boxing as soon as I find a class in my area. Also, I am going to spend more time being active with my kids.

Personal Information:
Well, I was born and raised a Floridian, though my family is all from up north, and I have some pretty strong Yankee roots so most Southerners still consider me a Yankee Transplant LoL. I'm currently living in Georgia - moved here from Germany.

Other Information:
Adventure isn't hanging on a rope off the side of a mountain. Adventure is an attitude that we must apply To the day to day obstacles of life - Facing new challenges, seizing new opportunities, Testing our resources against the unknown and in the process, discovering our own unique potential... - John Amatt

HI Shamberly,

My name is Jocelyn and I noticed that you live near Atlanta and have Family in Augusta. I live just 15 minutes outside of Atlanta in Smyrna Ga, near Marietta. I also have family in Augusta, my parents just bought a house there. I am also apart of the CandyCane team. Good Luck with the 8 week challenge. I am here if you need support. emoticon

Isn't Atlanta only like 4 hours away or something? Oh yeah moving back to South Dakota will be a big change..lol. Winter! At least she'll get to see snow i guess? And the summer's aren't as humid. Yeah I'm glad I'm going back this time just mainly because i finish some of my school up. He'll be gone for year or more. This is his second deployment but the first was just us. It's going to be a change...not looking forward to it but everything will be fine! How's your week going so far? It's my hubby's birthday today so the only thing he wanted for his b-day was his all time favorite supper which is biscuits and gravy , eggs and sausage patties..lol lets just say i will be having a salad! Well i hope your week is going good!
