I like Hal Hingdon's guide, it is close to what my trainer has me do except my guys is more aggressive. For example, the beginner hal guide has you only go up to 10 miles before your first half marathon...my guy had me do 14 2 or 3 weeks before...because he wanted my body to know what it felt like and my mind to know I could do it. On race day I was really happy that I had completed 14 before I did the official 13.1.
So what do you need from me to do this?? I'm tracking my calories and work outs and I am also doing a spark group challenge which has you running/walking 100 miles before the end of the year...a little over 7 miles a week. I also signed up for the Carlsbad 1/2 marathon on January 23rd.
