Thanks for dropping in! Last year my diet and exercise hit rock bottom and I'm surprised it didn't result in me having a heart attack. Why? Because I was constantly tired, out of breath, and eating a diet high in saturated fats and sodium. Does eating 3-4 large frozen pizzas a week for almost a year sound a bit reckless to you? Not to mention that I was a cookie monster. So I turned my life around... been exercising vigorously and eating clean ever since. Now my ...
Now my weight is a little over 40 pounds lighter with a BMI of 22.3 since December. That's when maintenance began. And I'm only about 5 pounds heavier than I was in high school when I ran track. ;-) I joined SP in September 2011 to work on some healthy recipes, but it's only recently that it felt necessary to change trackers and call this home. I plan on staying here for the long haul, for good! In fact I just bought two SP T-shirts! :) I'll never let my weight yo-yo back upwards again. Ever! The accountability of tracking foods is what guarantees my success so I will continue to do so. And with the tools that SP offers, a person actually *becomes* their own nutritionist! I find that empowering as well as addictive. Now that the weight is in check I'm focused on training. Biking (mountain and road) and running. I love to bike. I tolerate running, but enjoying it more the more conditioned I'm getting. Who knows, I've gotten so hooked on exercise again perhaps this old guy has a half marathon in his future.

Personal Information:
My name is Vito. I was a moderator at another nutrition tracker site until I got booted for being too honest and critical about the direction of their 'Beta' software. That's why I've migrated here (along with my exercise minutes and journaling since July '11). Now I'm very glad I did because I've discovered that SP is ~ 500% better, and that's conservatively speaking! ;) RE: Bugs Bunny chomping on a carrot as my Profile image That represents me now that I've become my own lean and mean (tough on foods) nutritionist. And when it comes to my diet and exercise, I already know the answer to "What's up, doc?" thanks to the robust SparkPeople Reports ;)
