The Time is NOW!

HI! I have been a "big" girl all my life and over the last couple of years I have put on more pounds. I just had my 27th birthday and something just clicked.. I just decided that I was done with all of this overweight BS. Never being able to find clothes that fit or look good. Struggling to do the easiest thing.. I AM JUST DONE.
SO.. I started my new journey in life NOV, 10th 2012. I refuse to call what I have started a Diet..NO.. Diets never work or stick.. this is a life change .. a ...

SO.. I started my new journey in life NOV, 10th 2012. I refuse to call what I have started a Diet..NO.. Diets never work or stick.. this is a life change .. a permanent one. I started out at 341lbs and in my first week I lost 7 lbs. I am more motivated now that when I started.
(even though it was only a week ago)
I already have so much more energy than I did a week ago, it's just amazing. I find a challenge in taking recipes that I know are good and turning them healthy AND good. (I love cooking) So, there is a little about me..Thanks for reading!

wow, you are doing phenomenal! What are you doing to help you lose weight- other than low calorie and activity- anything else helping you?

I think I am losing weight also (along with good diet and exercise) I stopped drinking diet soda, I eat 5 times a day, and I take my GNC vitamins (women's active pack vitamins) I believe those things have helped me lose weight.

Welcome! It can be tough to work on changing your own habits when those around you don't- hopefully your hubby can be supportive and try new healthier versions of your favorite foods together. As long as you don't push him and he truly supports you, I think you'll be okay :) I would recommend joining some spark teams- you can find a smaller subsection of the community that shares that interest/goal/workout/issue/etc and find great support and motivation. Congrats on getting going- keep making healthy choices, one at a time!

Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!
