Ready for Change

I am a 46yr old woman. I have struggled with my weight my whole life. I am ready to make healthy changes in my life. In 2009, I got up to 344lbs. I went on Weight Watchers and lost 40lbs. Slowly, I let the stresses of life consume me and stopped focussing on my health. In February of 2011, I recommitted myself to my health. I invested in a personal trainer, and I looked at Sparkpeople more closely. I had signed up before, but did not utilize the site. I committed to tracking my food, exercise and other goals. I started at 316lbs and the photo on the left is me at 276, in April of 2011. 2.5 months after making changes in my life, I am down 40lbs. I have a ways to go, but I am hopeful for the first time in a long time.

My Goals:
Reach a healthy weight of 160lbs.
Go Kayaking

Feel confident in my own skin
To have energy
To lose the shame associated with being so overweight.
To walk in a room and not wonder if everyone is looking at me thinking how fat and ugly I am....


My Program:
I have recently begun walking again. I am struggling with adding resistance to my routine, but I do at least 10 squats a day. Also, I have been doing a 24 day ab challenge. My diet consists of low fat, low carb, high fiber, fruits and vegetables, keeping my calorie count at 1500-1800

Other Information:
Goal for 2014: At least 1 5K/bike event/month

January:0 I signed up for a 5K, but it was rescheduled for April
February: 2, 2/8, Run for a Nurse, and 2/23-Graffite Run
March:1 3/29-Habitat or Humanity 5K
April: 2 4/6-Ride to the Rescue 45mile ride, 4/19-Awesome 80's Run(Jan event)

Sorry I have been so out of touch with you. I know you're hanging in there! You can do it! Hope your Easter was great. Mine was pretty cool. My daughter and two four-year-old granddaughters came out for a couple of days. Life is good.
