Mother, wife, sister, caregiver, professional, and great friend to whomever may need one. I love movies -- except SciFi (just can't seem to get into them) and Horror (previously a die hard fan), reading, playing word games, doing puzzles, playing cards, eating crabs, traveling, crafting, etc., etc., etc.

It has become painfully clear that I need to adopt a healthier lifestyle and get help doing it. I was a member of Calorie Count for many years until I learned of SPARKPeople. And I can't seem to stay off the site. It has been the best lifesaver ever...very colorful, no calories, no sugar added, great circles to join, and no limits on how many you can have.

My ultimate goal is to lose 55 pounds....WOW! I had fun putting on these 50 pounds, but it is time to say goodbye. It is only slowing me up from moving on to the next chapter in my life...Being Fabulous and Fit at 50. Yes, I want to grace the walls of my home, picture albums, and cover of my new book with a beautiful elongated spine, nice slim waistline, and proportioned curves. Ok...I have some years to go before turning 50, but time is flying and I am going to do it up in a BIG way without this extra weight. So, stay tuned and watch out because I am ready to grow up and be just like some of my SPARK Idols.

Fitness Minutes: 3,377

My Goals:
1) Love the Skin I'm In and put GOD first.
2) Become a fan of myself running - I love to see other people, why not ME?!
3) Lose 56 lbs.
4) Take a hike and tell people to take a hike - not in a mean way, but gotta get rid of those haters!
5) Teach an exercise class for overweight kids -- the kids at my daughter's school are calling my name and I have got to answer them.
6) Cook healthier -- going to use some of these great recipes on the site and stop making up stuff to fix.
7) Spread the word about Spark People
8) Exercise in the mornings before I can give myself a chance to change my mind during the day.
9) Journal my experience -- all of this change can drive you Insane and I gotta put my thoughts down to keep it real.
10) Have a good cry sometimes and laugh every day -- it is too funny looking at me trying to do Squats...and when it is over and the pain hits I just tear up!
11) Picking out my clothes for the week...this is a true t

My Program:
My program begins every day with thanking GOD for being alive, daily affirmations, and tracking my exercise and food on SPARK. I try to incorporate Cardio every day...doesn't matter what it is. Sometimes, I just look at the infomercials and do all of the exercises in my brain. Seriously though, I try to do something that makes me move...printing documents to a printer on the other side of the building, walking up and down the stairs while brushing my teeth because I keep forgetting what I went downstairs to get, or doing my fitness plan from Spark.

They almost got caught up in filling out this profile and realized that the whole wide web can see my info if I did. So, I decided NOT to provide this info; however, I have no problems exchanging emails with someone who's interested in being buddies or becoming fabulous at 50.

Other Information:
"Nothing changes if nothing changes." I love this very simple quote. My favorite books are those that enlighten, inspire, and make me laugh or cry. My all time favorite book is by Russell Simmons right now....I have had others. But, his book really moved me and he is a very profound dude. My favorite food is crab -- blue crabs. I am very fond of the color Purple. I am very outgoing and love meeting new people and learning new things. Youtube is one of my besties.

    Hi I saw your comment about Leslie's walking at home videos - I am trying those too since I'm too self-conscious about the gym until I lose a few pounds first! Hope you are hanging in there with the Sparkpeople system and getting good results. Greetings from Scotland. Colin

    AMMallory is one of my Best Sista/Friends! I appreciate and need the support & motivation that we give each other....when I'm losing focus she is on task & vice versa! We balance each other and push each other to continue in this rewarding struggle!! We've changed how we "hang out" and how we bond by finding things to do that DON"T include eating & sitting! I love you and appreciate all that you bring to our friendship! emoticon
