Pre-Baby Weight In Sight!!!!

Since the birth of my son 2 yrs. ago, I struggle with edema, and water retention. The scale flucuates 4-10lbs daily!!! I am beyond frustrated!

My Goals:
I gained 85lbs. with the pregnancy of my son, and through 20 pts. a day on Weight Watchers and going to Curves, I lost 75lbs in a year. I have been, beyond struggling, to lose the last 10-15 lbs, over the course of the next yr.

My Program:
After the first year of Weight Watchers and Curves, I am now doing it on my own, I struggle, to continue writting everything down, and get my exercise in everyday, I feel sometimes I have become obsessed, because I am so hard on myself when I miss workouts or don't eat right.

I'm glad you are learning about yourself. It's a process and we have to discover what we need. I read about 3000 pages to educate myself and still learning.

Some more to consider, your body type, there is a 7 point evaluation system for Ectomorph, Endomorph, and Mesomorph, most people are a combination! I'm and Endomorphic Mesomorph, therefore, I have large bones and joints, gain muscle quickly, strong build, but I also store fat quickly from too much carbos. I need exercise, moderate sleep, a specific balance in the macro nutrients, and to pay attention to my activities when eating. I often didn't eat enough and all my calories came a one meal, therefore, my body stored it. If I ride my bike 2hrs a day, work 12 hrs, walk 3 miles, and hit the gym for a hard strength workout I can't eat the same as if I was doing nothing.

If this stuff hits home I can share more, just ask or research the topics.

You are going to do a great job, you are motivated and paying attentions. You will solve this issue for life, just keep an eye on the road.

I saw your post on fiber. Once you start to get over 45 grams certain people can get issues.

Certainty the weight fluctuation is from the fiber and holding of water. This has happened to me.

My dietitian changed me from a low fat diet to lower carbs, more protein & fat. I went to clean eating and lower GI foods mostly whole foods. Due to my body type this has helped. I do 40 to 55% carbos, 25 to 35% protein, and 20 to 30% fat (only good fat), no sugar or breads.

Everyone needs to find what works for them. Math works for me. I know my BMR, add in the calories I burn exercising and working. I make sure to eat enough. On very active days I will eat more carbos and on recovery days more protein. Good fat is very important and I didn't eat enough in the past. I ate too many carbos, not enough protein or fat.
