My new love is hiking - in May 2011 we did a road trip out west that included Sedona, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion Natl Park, Arches Natl Park, Canyonlands Natl Park, and Yellowstone. It was awesome and hiking these parks helped me make great progress in conquering my fear of heights!! I can't wait to go back!! Update - went back to some of the same parks and some new ones in May 2012 - again LOVED it!!

On October 29, 1941, U.K. Prime Minister Winston Churchill visited Harrow School to to hear the traditional songs he had sung there as a youth, as well as to speak to the students. When he was invited to give a speech, Churchill stood before the students and said,

"Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, give up. Never give up. Never give up. Never give up."

To be successful in your life and business, here is what Winston Churchill told us:

"The pessimist sees the problems in every opportunity. Whereas the optimist sees the opportunity in every problem"

"Never give in, never give in, never; never; never; never - in nothing, great or small, large or petty - never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense"

Thomas Edison said this when questioned about his failure: "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

I cannot tell a lie - I shamelessly stole this site and these quotes from another Sparker, KrzyKat3. I even left in some of HER quotes that really resonated with me because I don't want to forget them!! Feel free to borrow them yourself, but please give her credit if you do! (I DID tell her I was borrowing them!):

A hunch is creativity trying to tell you something. - Frank Capra"

There are so many things that we wish we had done yesterday, so few that we feel like doing today. ~Mignon McLaughlin

We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have." Frederick Keonig

Friendship with one's self is all important, because without it one cannot be friends with anyone else in the world. -Eleanor Roosevelt

Our greatest asset is patience; our greatest weakness is throwing in the towel. Banish discouragement and feelings of impossibility by working hard, doing more, and not giving in! A diamond was only made beautiful after millions of years as a lump of coal. From Donna aka Walkersss

Some People weave burlap into the fabric of our lives and some weave gold thread. Both contribute to make the whole picture beautiful and unique.... Unknown

my motto is anything lost is not a gain, anything maintained is not a gain. I can live with no gain! ---- me (KrzyKat3), 01/31/10

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.
— Albert Schweitzer

People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas (copied from another sparker)

"If I start, I finish" --- me-(KrzyKat3) motto for 2010

"if we did all the things we are capable of doing we would truly astound ourselves." - Thomas Edison

"Time is a dressmaker specializing in alterations." -Faith Baldwin (From Marilyn - I personally think God could be substituted for Time in that one. I think He often works with our mistakes to keep our lives on His tracks.)

"Don't wait for a light to appear at the end of the tunnel, stride down there .... and light the bloody thing yourself." - Sara Henderson, Australian Outback Station Manager and Writer

Try.
Try again.
Try harder.
Try tomorrow.
Try thinking about what has worked in the past.
Try and ask someone who has done it.
Try and figure out what is not working.
Try it a different way.
Try it once more.
Don't stop trying!

My top goal is to get fit and healthy! In 2013 I want to increase my strength training and work on getting my house organized. I've let that slip in the past couple of years - time to add some balance back to my life!

My Program:
I am eating whole grain breads and as many freggies as I can manage. I've added muscle milk because I wasn't getting enough protein and I've learned protein keeps me from getting hungry.

Personal Information:
I am originally from central Texas but have been living in Georgia most of the last 30 years. We recently moved from Suwanee, GA to LaGrange, Ga when DH retired.

No, I'm taking next round off. I needed the break. I have two other teams to keep up with and need a break from the daily doings of BLC. I enjoyed it and will miss everyone. Good luck. Keep in touch. I'm a member of Flylady on SP, but haven't been doing the daily chores, like I should. I need to get over that way.

Allergies or sinus been acting up lately.

Take care and I still have to do my Fling, but will get it done. Think I'll work in the den, it needs it.

Thanks for stopping by my page and your nice comments on my blogs. I was a bit worn out last week trying to keep up with working two jobs and preparing all these different meals. But I think this week will be easier. I probably won't be taking quite so many pictures though. emoticon
