Hi there! In August I turned 39 and since then I've had these moments of "awareness" and these little "wake up calls"....I'm not getting any younger!
A few years ago I got very sick and in less than one year I gained almost 100 pounds. For the last six years that has been what I always said if I ever spoke about weight. It wasn't fair. I used to be an athletic, healthy skinny, curvy size 12/14. (I'm almost 6 foot tall)

I realize now that I have spent the last six years living an excuse. An excuse for why I couldn't exercise, an excuse for why I couldn't eat right, an excuse for why I was physically no longer the person I used to be. I'm done with the excuse. I'm not going to speak the phrase "If only I hadn't gotten sick...." ever again. Ever.
Hopefully in my first few weeks I'll find new phrases to focus on, positive ones. I am sure I will have my ups and downs but I really need to do this and I need to start doing this now.

Good morning! Thank you so much for your encouragement on my squat/push-up challenge. I know it was the sounds of my friends cheering me on that got me through all those squats and push-ups. I honestly wasn't sure I could do it, but I surprised myself; it was a good lesson: Never underestimate yourself!
