I started my weight loss journey on December 27, 2008 at 218 pounds. I never worried about my weight once in my life until after I had my son. I couldn't even tell you how much weight I gained during my pregnancy, because I had no idea what I weighed before. I know I ate unhealthy, worked a lot, smoked, and went out a lot and drank. I had a pooch.
When I got pregnant, I was under the misconception that you pushed out a baby and poof, you were normal again. I had my son, and was still fat. Six weeks later, I was still 223 pounds. Three MONTHS later, I was 218 pounds. Then my son's father and I broke up after 4 years. I decided, my son only has me. I need to be healthy. If I ever want to find someone to be with, I have to love myself.
I started by buying the Biggest Loser books and DVDs. By September 2009, I was 183 pounds. In Sept '09, I found SP. I joined the Winter Biggest Loser Challenge, and got down to around 165 pounds. By then, I was happy enough with myself, and I kind of fell off the wagon. I went back to work full time, and went back to school full time. I just didnt have time for exercise.
In Summer 2010, I got a part-time job. I got a gym membership, and worked out at least two hours after work everyday. I got down to about 160 pounds, but was in the best shape of my life. I met my current boyfriend...and fell off the wagon again. He is amazing...but he's one of those awful people who eats like a cow and never gains a pound (&*&@#&@#^@*&!!!!).
Now, my son is 3 1/2. I might be healthIER, but I'm not healthy. I need to be active. I need to make healthy eating and exercise a part of my life. I don't want the little baby pooch left anymore. I want to be able to run without getting winded. I quit smoking on February 12, 2012, and if I can do that after 9 years of smoking, I can do anything. So here I am, back at SP, ready to carpe diem. Because it's time to do me.
-Quit smoking - done 2/12/12
-Hit 155 lbs by March 30, 2012
-Hit 150 lbs by April 30, 2012
-Hit 148 lbs by End of BL Spring Challenge (5/24/12) - 70 LBS LOST TOTAL
-Be able to run (no walking!) a 5K by September 2012
-Exercise at least 5 days a week for 3 months straight
I just got the Zumba and Ten Minute Trainer DVDs, and will be starting those ASAP!
12/27/08: 218 lbs

11/15/09: 177.2 lbs
2/20/10: 166 lbs
3/8/12: 160.4 lbs
Weight loss is not a track meet, it's a marathon!
