Losing my Baby Weight

My name is Amanda and I'm 26 years old. I have a beautiful son named Nolan who turns 5 in October, a beautiful daughter named Julia who just turned 2 in April, and an amazing husband who I've been married to for 6 1/2 years. I completed my first 10K last June. I signed up with a friend who didn't train as much as I did and didn't want to outrun her since we signed up to do it together. So I didn't go as fast as I could have, but we had fun. It was a mud run so the whole thing was through the mud, our clothes and shoes were wet the whole time and we had to climb walls and other obstacles. All in all, I'm proud of how I did. I finished in an hour and 43 minutes and had a blast! Doing it again this year by myself to try for an hour and a half.

My Goals:
I want to live a healthy lifestyle that includes eating well, exercising, and losing some weight so that I can set a good example for my kids.
For the first time in my life I think I'm able to consider myself a runner. I never thought that would be possible because I have asthma, but here I am.

My Program:
I'm trying to eat healthier- this is hard for me, but I'm getting there. I just LOVE dessert and all types of sweets!
I have started jogging. That's something I never thought I would do (or be able to do with my asthma). My goal is to jog 3 times a week. I also do strength training exercises with dumbbells 3 times a week.

Personal Information:
I am from Southern California and love it here! We moved to LA county 4 years ago and it's awesome... everything is so close I find myself walking to the store (when it's not too hot out). It's great! I made an end-of-2007 resolution to walk rather than drive whenever possible. I've kind of gotten away from this- I need to get back to it.

You have a beautiful family! I seen that you did that mud run...ive been looking at the one they do in chicago and it looks like so much fun :) I might have to train to do one of those :) lol Im just starting the c25k this week and im so nervous...but i know it can be done!
