I have several things. I join the 5% challenges and they keep me accountable. I know my exercise minutes count on the team against the other teams we are competing against. It's fun too and supportive.
I once saw a nature valley granola bar commercial that still inspires me, it had two older people on there hiking and stuff and I thought I want to be able to so that stuff when my kids are off doing their own thing when they are older, I don't want to sit around sad that they are gone and moved out, cuz I know I will be. If I sit around now and don't take care of myself, I won't be able to go hiking when I'm 60 like those people on the commercial. I don't eat nature valley granola bars, but the commercial still stays with me.
I also want to look nice in clothes. I walk by the stores and can't even buy stuff now because I'm too big for it to fit me how I'd like it to fit. That keeps me motivated as well.
Also, if you choose something to strive for, that will keep you motivated. Things like an upcoming 5k or a journal that you get to mark off each time you do 60 minutes of exercise. Or do this many minutes a week and you get to go do something or buy a new DVD and watch it etc. 125 days ago
