I've always had trouble eating healthy but my active lifestyle in college made up for it. I gained a lot of weight when I worked as a law firm receptionist. That weight just stayed with me when I transitioned into a new job as a behavior therapist for kids with autism. I reached my peak of physical bad health New Years Day 2012. I realized I was officially 25 pounds overweight, constantly exhausted, and unable to do my job well.

I continued to go downhill and then was diagnosed with hypoadrenia or Adrenal Fatigue in April. I ended up having to quit my job to pursue recovered from this debilitating condition. In the process I've gone gluten free which had ended up being the key to my success. I lost 12 pounds without even exercising (I couldn't due to my adrenal fatigue). Now I've got 13 more pounds to go and am mostly recovered so I need to start some serious exercise! Good habits here we come!!!

My Goals:
1. Break my sugar addiction
2. Exercise 4 times a week as soon as I get home from work
3. Learn how to track my fitness goals on sparkpeople

My Program:
Drink lots of water, Jog the back stairs at work everyday before lunch, Control portion size, Pack my lunch every day so I can eat out less, Jump Rope (SO FUN, You feel like a little kid again)

Personal Information:
I am passionate about helping kids with special needs, particularly kids on the autism spectrum. I'm working towards becoming a therapist. I'm married to an amazing man who encourages me in all of my endeavors and we're on this "getting fit" journey together.
I'm origianlly from Durham, NC now in Columbia, SC. I'm involved with an awesome church called Columbia Crossroads. God has used the people there to make a huge impact on my life.

    Hey lady! Thanks for the jeans, dude - I could REALLY use them and it made me smile - because that's kind of a non-scale goal - to fit into my skinniest jeanst in the drawer (size 8s...) and throw out all the 12s!

    As for my fast breaks (which we're almost to week 2!!!) - I'm striving to drink tons of water, do something active every day (I go to the gym about 4 times a week - but if I don't go to the gym, to go for a walk or something) and to tell people about my goals, out loud, every day. And to consistently track my nutrition and exercise...on sparkpeople.

    I'm feeling frustrated this week because after losing 4 pounds in 3ish weeks, I suddenly am back where I started. Argh. I think part of it is water and part of it is this strength training/boot camp thing I am doing with my trainer at the gym, because I'm forming muscle and I'm putting the scale away until the END OF THE MONTH (Scary, yes, but true.)

    Thanks again and yay for 22 more SPARKFUL days!
