PERSEVERANCE IS THE KEY!

Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally. ~David Frost

I love this informative website - it's so full of many good tips & tools on how to eat healthy and exercise. I hope to be with it for years to come, even after I reach my goal weight.

I love this informative website - it's so full of many good tips & tools on how to eat healthy and exercise. I hope to be with it for years to come, even after I reach my goal weight.
I have learned so many things and have lost 43 pounds and 52 inches since joining! Have met so many special supportive friends from all over the world here too. I have tracked my food daily since the beginning and exercise everyday and have went from walking a few blocks to 4 1/2 miles in one day! Recently purchased a Fitbit Flex and that really helps me keep going with my daily step goals!!
Although I have hit a few plateaus off and on, I will never give up! I don't want to destroy all the progress I have made by giving in to food temptations, just because I have a bad day, week or year!
Thanks to all the support of my sparkfriends, I feel I can keep going day after day with their help! I truly feel I have hope for the future! And I am here to support them too!

My back story is that I was the correct weight range all through my school age years. When I got married in 1974, I gained 17 pounds in the first 6 months, because I wanted to eat all the desserts and junk food my Mom would never allow us to have. Now I am glad she did or I would have been obese long before that, I'm sure!
I never stopped gaining weight after that - stress eating & binge eating helped add to those pounds & the scale kept creeping up! Add lots of fast food, because too busy or tired to cook after working all day and driving 2 hours round trip to and from work in those days.
Now I reach for fruit and vegetables instead of junk food! It took awhile, but I am so proud of myself -it is a miracle I can do that! Still have a ways to go, but I am hanging in there!

Thanks for stopping by my page........ Connie

My Goals:
My goals for 2014:

1) Continue riding my bike, although had to stop since having back problems early in the year.

2) Cook more at home= eat out less

3) More control over my sweet tooth! Always a work in progress!

4) Slowly have been getting back to using weights in my exercise. Due to my bike accident last year and injuring my arm-had to stop for 6 months. Up to 3# as of 8/2014

As of 1/1/15: Want to at least get to Onederland! A girl can dream! It has been slow going, with 3 injuries in one year, but I won't give up!

REWARD: Nice Vacation somewhere

My Program:
SP & my Spark Friends are my motivators and helps me keep track of calories and exercise.

Due to bad knees-I incorporate chair exercises into my routine at least 4x a week

3x a week ST with weights or resistance bands

Walk 3-4 x a week, at least 10 miles a week.

Other Information:
Love being with my DH of 39 1/2 years-we do everything together-we are best friends! We enjoy sunsets, the ocean, walking on the beach, or any trails! Both are very much into photography!

Thanks for leaving your comments about beaches. That is so interesting. Alaska has lots of different beaches too, but around here there is a yukky choice of shingle (gravel) or quicksand (glacial silt that can trap the unwary!)

Not the loveliest of beaches here. emoticon
Yours sound much better...

PS. Sorry to respond so late. We were on a short vacation north to see the fall migration of Sandhill cranes.

Connie I'll look up those areas- thanks for the tips. I think I mentioned we're starting out in Summerville. It's near the highway to our kids. They will be about 3-1/2 hours away and they both work so we don't want to be too far from them. But on the other hand, they're inland, and we want to be no more than a half hour-45 min. to the beach so we won't be going to the same town(s) as they are (to live) Being retired we can go up and visit them more often than they'll be able to come down. It will be so nice to see them more often than once a year! There are two others, back in Wa. State Seattle area, but we can't be everywhere LOL.

Our real estate woman is also a friend and neighbor- she really knows houses especially by our builder. She had a videographer (??) come in at the beginning and did a video of inside/outside and posted it on the multiple listing. There were a lot of hits (she sends us a report every week) I worked on staging the house for the past year and went to Hobby Lobby many times for greenery etc- not overdone. Got rid of all excess furniture- misc pieces- all knick knacks etc. We worked on that for the past year so it would be show room ready. We had the house freshly painted on the outside last Fall and all maintenance and landscaping up to speed- a pain but makes a big difference. Markets vary from area to area so it may just be the market in your friends area. It's a good idea to shop around for another agent if dissatisfied though that's for sure.

We're keeping our two bedroom sets as we just got them in April- also two new recliners and another favorite leather Lane. The buyer is purchasing both the front and back patio sets and the bar stools. We're selling the living and dining room furniture and starting fresh with whatever house we buy. Going to put everything we bring into storage and rent a furnished place for a few months while we look around. This is a very NEW adventure for us and we're both very excited about it.

Thanks for asking and sorry for the long reply- it's hard to condense some of this! Take care and keep taking pictures- love that you share them. How did the contest turn out? ~Sandi

emoticon For stopping by Connie, sometimes we get great sunsets, almost like a Florida sunset, but I would love to see one of yours one day. Hope all is going well and you are tip top. Take good care emoticon Jackie
