Because of your medical condition, it wouldn't be safe for us to try and recommend exercises we could be sure wouldn't aggravate the condition. Your best bet is to talk to your doctor and see if you can get a referral to see a physical therapist. A PT can design a set of exercises specific to your needs.

Not to discourage you, but my fusion took 2 years to settle Down. I finally got pain reduction when I quit eating potatoes, an inflammatory food. I also used a TENS unit I found on Amazon in May for several weeks to loosen my muscle spasms in the lower back. I keep it handy but haven,t had to use the past 2 months, knock on wood ! I am finally able to do the treadmill for up to 30 minutes now, though 2 months ago I couldn't take it for more than 10 minutes. Don't get discouraged. The TENS UNIT was a major pain reliever, kept it running all day at times, especially if I had to stand very long, like to get groceries. I also do gentle stretches I learned in PT sessions.

I have sustained a severe back injury requiring 2 surgeries. Right and left side s i joint fusions. I still have quite a lot of pain but I am trying to work through the pain. I know cardio is important. Can anyone suggest any modifications for some of the high impact moves?
