I am currently doing WW, mainly for the meetings. I NEED that weekly face to face motivation.

I have done WW, a liquid only diet administered by my health care provider and several others. SP IS THE ONLY ONE FOR ME!!!

This is a GREAT website and I thing that you will like it here. As previous responders have said, the community here is great! If you have a question or problem just ask. You'll have valuable answers and support before you know it! The amount of assistance they provide in the way of menus, workouts, videos, forums, trackers, encouragement (i can go on) really is second to none. Remember to have fun and that weight loss is really a journey and not a destination. Welcome to Sparkpeople! :)

I'm a WW member with "lifetime" status and I have to say all you really need is Sparkpeople.

I've never done WW, so I can't say which is better. I know this works for me, but I also put in the effort. Sparkpeople provides you with a lot of great tools, like this website and the smartphone apps, and also has a lot of sensible information that doesn't try to sensationalize themselves as would a "for profit" "diet system". I eat what I would have normally ate before but I can manage it better now.

I lost the weight I wanted on WW online and was an online member of 18 months and then I found SP. I have maintained my loss (healthy weight) here for 9 years.
There are wonderful resources, tips and support on both WW and SP. A program is as valuable as the commitment you put into it.
I prefer SP as I like seeing how many various nutrients and components are part of what I eat and the generosity of spirit with the forum experts is a great addition to the community.

I have not done WW but for the most part, everyone here is so nice.

It is free and has so much to offer. So I wouldn't do WW and stay here

I've done WW, but never tried the online stuff so I can't really say much about WW online

Spark has nutrition & fitness trackers, and LOTS of info. You can get as much or as little detail as you want from the trackers. Great workout videos too. And there is no charge for using most of what's available (Spark Coach does have a fee after the trial period).

click on the MY TRACKERS tab, select START, then click the SITE GUIDE tab.

I got really frustrated when I first joined Spark because I didn't take the time to learn how to use the site. The site tour videos really helped. I just needed to invest a few minutes.

This is so much better than Weight Watchers!!! There's so much help and wonderful people to help you with anything you need. There are so many tools here to use to help you be successful. I too tried Weight Watchers online and going to those meetings. I know exactly what you mean about what went on there. I felt that I didn't get the kind of help I needed. I use the menus that I can get on here because I need to know what to put together to eat. I think you'll really like it on here. Just take your time and get to acquainted with the sight. What you don't understand or need help with just holler. Someone will come running to help. Good Luck!!
