Exercising too close to bedtime always makes it harder for me to sleep. Likewise, a good workout (although tiring while doing it) gives me more energy for the rest of my day. With that said, I'd agree that it may be best to get some sleep first, then work out after you wake up. :)

I would wait until the afternoon, after you have woken up.
I'd suggest not to exercise in the morning, after you just got off work and feel all tired.
I know this much, that you definitely need your sleep for the exercise..
Just wait until the afternoon when you've woken up :) Before you work :P

Hi, I work the night shift at a hospital,should I work out in the mornings when i get off work,or wait & exercise in the afternoon when i wake up? emoticon
